Yom Kippur War

Thanks for the info. I have excellent knowledge of the war, having read 12 books on the subject in addition to touring the combat zones and speaking personally to people who actually participated in the war. I also studied technical aspects of the war during my time in the service (USAF). As I stated earlier, the article in its current form is painfully inaccurate and requires a major over-haul from start to finish and I intend to do so in the near future. Please do not let your inexperience in editing prevent you from editing. You have to start somewhere and don't worry about making mistakes because they can easily be corrected. Indeed, I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with you. Other editors have expressed a similar interest in collaborating with me and have expressed the same concerns that you correctly pointed out. I suggest you put the article on your watch list as there will be lots of activity in the near future and don't let any other editor bully you into submission. Also check out the article's history section and you'll see some of the edits that I made but most were unfortunately reverted by Sherif. I intend to restore these as well as making additional edits. Once again don't be intimidated by other editors or by your relative inexperience. Hi Megaidler. You indicated that your knowledge of the Yom Kippur War stems primarily from Hebrew sources. Although generally I would prefer English sources, in this case an exception is warranted. This is so because the article itself draws heavily on Arabic sources so Hebrew sources are welcome and in fact, necessary to restore balance. Don't hesitate to use these sources and don't feel intimidated. Edit to your heart's desire and voice your opinion on the discussion page. Hello; I hope that you keep in mind that this is not a forum where the editor's own POV is to be taken in consideration. That is to say that whatever your write should count; Maybe you think El-Shazley was a liar, but to state such thing here, you need to relay on a reliable source. We, as editors are not supposed to be affected with our POVs, when editing article, but rather stick to the policies; Simple, it's chaos if every one would relay on their own POV, that happen to contradict other POVs.

The way i see things, is that as editors, our main aim is supposed to be improving the encyclopedia, and adding to it. That can be done by citing articles to different reliable sources, that support different POVs. A very simple way to assure that that happens is stop removing reliably cited info :D

Hi there Megaidler.

I had my fun mocking you, but then I realized this isn't constructive, and that this is contrary to WP:BITE, so I appologize.

You need to widen your perspective, consider other viewpoints. You must be objective in presenting hypothesis if you're going to earn respect for your words. Analysis such as "Hammad was naive", the "DIA cannot identify causes for the destruction of tanks", or the "Egyptian military leadership was ignorant as to why it lost so many tanks". This is not the way to advance your POV in an article. This is an encyclopedia, not a forum. Trying to reach people's emotions doesn't pass here; you must be objective.

I have never admitted I made any edit under any user name besides Megaidler. Both I and the sock puppets made contributions to the Golan Heights talk page. Somehow, peter Cohen concluded that there is only one man in wikipedia who thinks that the Golan Heights belongs to Israel and that person uses multiple accounts. It is uneasy to know that not every body thinks like you. Peter Cohen removed my contributions and those of the other accounts as well.
When I noticed that, I did a single Undo and the contributions of both me and the alleged socks were reinserted. In the edit summery I wrote that I am not a sock puppet and that peter Cohen has no right to remove my posts. "My posts", means Megaidler's posts only. It is extremely stupid to declare that I'm not a sock puppet and in the same time, to admit using socks.
I suggest you to watch my contribution to the Yom Kippur War talk page. You will find that when I edit, I do it seriously. Even nableezy, not a person I admire, does not believe I am a sock. It seems he does have some level of decency.
However, it seems there are editors who can't stand the fact that their views are unaccepted among many others. peter Cohen admitted he was wrong. But Supreme Deliciousness did not. We shouldn't let thugs shutting any one who does not agree with their views and turning Wikipedia into Bolshewikipedia.

On the other hand, my contributions of my one and only account – Megaidler, have their own pattern: I make use of capital letters, my English is a little better, and there are much less grammar errors because I make drafts in Microsoft Word before I make edits in wikipedia. Please, check the messages I left on the talk page of Jiujitsuguy and my contribution to the Yom Kippur War talk page and article. You will find that when I edit, I do it seriously.
You may suspect I was using puppets because of this edit: In this comment I have wrote that I would make changes in the article. In the same day I received responses. After Malik Shabazz threatened me with blocking, I have become discouraged and eventually I did not make any changes neither on the article nor on the talk page .Not as Megaidler. Not as any other account. I was abstaining from wikipedia for a long period, something I used to do previously. I have nothing with the account that posted after my comment. peter Cohen suspected me to be one of the sockpuppets and removed my contributions as well as those of the other accounts as well. Before I created my account on Wikipedia, I had few more accounts on other websites. The first one was created on youtube. The name was the same as here – MegaIdler, with capital M and capital I. On youtube I left comments focusing on the Yom Kippur War.
Later I made accounts on the following websites:
www.militaryphotos.net as megaidler, with no capital letters,
www.politicsforum.org as yoyo, with no capital letters,
and www.military-quotes.com as yoyo, with no capital letters.
On these forums, my posts were focused solely on the Yom Kippur War. While discussing on these forums, I sought for Yom Kippur War information on Wikipedia. I have found that the Yom Kippur War article on Wikipedia has to be improved and I made my wiki account – Megaidler, with capital M. I have made a lot of contributions to this article and its talk page.
After I noticed this edit by Supreme Deliciousness on the Yom Kippur War article:

On the other hand, my contributions of my one and only account – Megaidler, have their own pattern: I make use of capital letters, since April 2010 I have used usually < b r / > for line breaks (watch my contributions), my English is a little better, and there are much less grammar errors because I make drafts in Microsoft Word before I make edits in Wikipedia.
Another characteristic of the listed accounts/IPs is the order of appearance. If you check the user contribution pages of the accounts/IPs, you can see that that each accounts/IPs appeared during a continuous period of time.

It is unlikely that the person behind 84.229.240.176 switched to Megaidler, and then switched back to 84.229.240.176. This is in contrast to the pattern of the accounts and IPs I have listed.
I am accused sock puppetry because my IP leads to the same area of the other accounts/IPs. I am from the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area where nearly half of Israel's population lives. Since most Israelis have views similar to mine, it is very likely that there will be many wikipedia users from this area with such views.
Finally, you may be suspecting me for be a sock puppeteer because of some similarities in expressiveness and style with the others. I have already stated on my user page that my English level is intermediate (en-2). The similarities in style may be a result of relatively poor English and cultural similarities which are probably common among me and the person behind the other accounts and IPs. After all, probably we are both from the same metropolitan area and both of us are native Hebrew speakers.
I know there are some coordinated Zionist groups that try to influence Wikipedia. I have nothing with these guys or these groups. Most of my contributions, even those on the Yom Kippur War, were not part of any attempt to defend Israel or to justify Zionism. I joined Wikipedia to improve it. I have come with good will and I hope my arguments will be seriously considered.

I have found that the Yom Kippur War article on Wikipedia has to be improved and I made my wiki account – Megaidler, with capital M.
I have made a lot of contributions to this article and its talk page.<br />

In this comment I wrote I would make changes in the article and in the same day I received responses. 
After Malik Shabazz threatened me with blocking, I have become discouraged. Eventually I did not make any change, neither on the article nor on the talk page. Not as Megaidler. Not as any other account. I was abstaining from Wikipedia for a long period, something I used to do previously.<br />
The following accounts made their contributions to the Golan Heights talk page in the following order:<br />

Peter cohen suspected me to be the person behind these accounts and IPs and removed my contributions as well as those of the other accounts and IPs. 
When I noticed that, I did a single Undo and the contributions of both me and the other accounts/IPs were automatically reinserted.<br />

In the edit summery of my reversion I wrote I am not a sock puppet and Peter cohen has no right to remove my posts. 
When I wrote "My posts" I meant Megaidler's posts only, not those of the other accounts and IPs. 
I have never admitted I made any edit under any user name besides Megaidler. 
It is extremely stupid for me to declare that I'm not a sock puppet and in the same time, to admit using puppets.
Even nableezy, not a persona I admire, does not believe I am a sock puppet. It seems he does have some level of decency. 
Peter cohen also admitted he was wrong. But Supreme Deliciousness did not.<br />
My style is distinguished from the style of the other accounts and IPs.
The real puppets made no use of capital letters on the beginning of sentences. No use of  ''' < b r / > ''' for line breaks, and there is almost no referring to reliable sources.
On the other hand, my contributions of my one and only account – Megaidler, have their own pattern: 
I make use of capital letters, since April 2010 I have used usually ''' < b r / > ''' for line breaks (watch my contributions), my English is a little better, and there are much less grammar errors because I make drafts in Microsoft Word before I make edits in Wikipedia. <br />
Another characteristic of the listed accounts/IPs is the order of appearance.
If you check the user contribution pages of the accounts/IPs,
you can see that that each accounts/IPs appeared during a continuous period of time. <br />

I am from the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area where nearly half of Israel's population lives. 
Since most Israelis have views similar to mine, it is very likely that there will be many wikipedia users from this area with such views. <br />
Finally, you may be suspecting me for be a sock puppeteer because of some similarities in expressiveness and style with the others.
I have already stated on my user page that my English level is intermediate (en-2).
The similarities in style may be a result of relatively poor English and cultural similarities which are probably common among me and the person behind the other accounts and IPs. 
After all, probably we are both from the same metropolitan area and both of us are native Hebrew speakers. <br />
I know there are some coordinated Zionist groups that try to influence Wikipedia. I have nothing with these guys or these groups. 
Most of my contributions, even those on the Yom Kippur War, were not part of any attempt to defend Israel or to justify Zionism.
I joined Wikipedia to improve it.
