Reception

Critical Reception

On the review-aggregation website ReviewGang, the film scored 6.5/10 based on 4 reviews.[1]. Nikhat Kazmi of Times of India rated it 3.5/5 "The film works primarily because it is paced like a high momentum thriller". FilmiTadka rated it 3.5 out of 5 stars stating "Watch it for the phenomenal performances of Akshaye Khanna and Ajay Devgan, and also the strong and awakening script"[3]. ApunKaChoice gave the film 2.5/5 saying "Watch it for the performances" Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 3.5/5 claiming "On the whole, AAKROSH is not the standard Bollywood fare with the usual song-and-comedy routine. This one strikes a punch. Being an issue-based cinema, it will magnetize the thinking viewer and the intelligentsia mainly. It should find more flavor with the North Indian audience." [4]

Certification

Aakrosh is a hard hitting subject of honor killings. Due to much violence and swear languages, Central Board of Film Certification after 5 cuts gave this movie an A Certificate[5]. In an interview Devgan says that this movie is not for children and for faint hearted.[6]
