Candice Accola (born May 13, 1987) is an American actress and singer, best known for her role as Caroline Forbes on The Vampire Diaries.
Career
Accola grew up in Edgewood.[1] Her father, Kevin, is a cardio-vascular and thoracic surgeon[2] and her mother, Carolyn, was formerly an environmental engineer before becoming a homemaker. Both her parents are active members of the local Republican political party.[3][4] She has one younger brother.[1]
In her early teens, Accola found a talent agent in California. Then, in the middle of her junior year at Lake Highland Preparatory School, she moved to Los Angeles.[1] Six months later, she had a deal for a CD titled It’s Always the Innocent Ones. She finished high school through correspondence and graduated with her class in 2005.[1] Accola appeared in her first movie, Pirate Camp, in 2007. Accola has guest starred on popular TV series How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural and Greek. She has also appeared in films such as On the Doll, Juno, Deadgirl and X's & O's.
Accola has continued her professional singing and has appeared as a background singer in the movies Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert and Hannah Montana: The Movie.
She appears as Caroline Forbes in the television series The Vampire Diaries.

Philantropy
She is, together with her The Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder, one of many supporters of the It Gets Better Project, a project that has made it a goal to prevent suicide among LGBT youth[6], associated with The Trevor Project.[7]
