Mr. Krabs

Template:SpongeBob SquarePants character Eugene H. Krabs is a fictional character on the television cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants. He is voiced by Clancy Brown. The character is seen in most episodes of the show, as well as in movies, video games, and other media based on the series. Additionally, he has been featured on countless toys, games, dolls, and other popular merchandise items.

Early life

Mr. Eugene Harold Krabs was born on November 30, 1942 to Betsy Krabs; his father is unnamed. While growing up, his family was poor and had to make clothes from rags. Half the members in his family are said to be pirates, like his grandfather, Redbeard Krabs.

While growing up, he was friends with his now long-time rival Sheldon J. Plankton, until the events mentioned in the episode "Friend or Foe" tore them apart. After inventing the Krabby Patty, he was pretty much popular after that. As he grew up, he decided to follow his grandfather's footsteps in becoming a pirate. He named his ship the Krusty Krab, hired a crew, and sailed the seas, stealing treasure. Unfortunately, Mr. Krabs wasn't making enough profit. He then fired his crew and sold his ship. He then lied to his grandfather that he was a pirate because of the shame he felt.

After that, he joined the navy with his fellow shipmates Old Iron Eye, Mutanshop, Torpedo Belly and Lock Jaw Jones. While serving, he was nicknamed Old Armor Abs Krabs. After he retired from the navy after the war, Mr. Krabs fell into a deep depression that had seemed endless.

He later found hope when he purchased the Rusty Krab retirement home. He then remembered the Krabby Patties that he made. Mr. Krabs then immediately turned the Rusty Krab into the Krusty Krab. He soon realized that he became one of the most successful restaurant owners in Bikini Bottom.

Mr. Krabs soon realized that he was getting older and needed someone to inherit the Krusty Krab after he had died. But with no wife, this wasn't possible. He had then decided to adopt Pearl Krabs as his daughter. He later hired Jim, the Krusty Krabs' original frycook. After that, Mr. Krabs hired Squidward.

Jim later quit his job because he demanded Mr. Krabs for a raise, but Mr. Krabs did not give it to him. Years later, Krabs had hired Spongebob after proving his true talents in fry cooking.

Mr. Krabs now lives in a rusty anchor with his daughter Pearl who is now a teenager. Pearl is constantly embarrassed by her dad and his cheap antics leading them to show some distance with each other. Mr. Krabs is extremely rich, but is extremely cheap when it comes to losing even one cent. His now rival Plankton has built a struggling restaurant called the Chum Bucket right next to his. In the Episode Grandpappy the Pirate, he had revealed to his grandfather that he was not a pirate, causing his grandfather great disappointment and anger until he found out about Mr. Krabs cheap and high prices for the food in the Krusty Krab. He is also seen with a pet worm named Mr. Doodles. Mr. Doodles had been seen in only a few episodes but is usually seen walking with Mr. Krabs.
