I'm recovering from a really bad episode of the flu. I'm feeling better but I won't be back for another few days.
Thanks for being so patient, everybody. :-)
I got an e-mail from Katie tonight. She's recovering, though we shouldn't expect to see her on-wiki for a few days. Courcelles 01:34, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request to be my mentor

Hi Katie! I'm enrolled in Professor Bauer's class at Michigan State and would like to know if you'd consent to being my mentor.

I noticed you're an RN, and saw something about treating CABG patients. My dad went through one of those about a dozen years ago; sadly, he died from other complications this past November, but heart-related stuff is definitely something always on my mind.

So, here's hoping you're available as my mentor. Thanks!

Would you be willing to be my mentor?

Hello Katie,

My name is Julie and I was wondering if you would be willing, available to be my mentor in this Wikipedia process! I am part of the new public policy program (I guess that's what it is) to incorporate students into improving Wikipedia. I am a senior in the Public Relations seminar at Simmons College. Let me know what you think! Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Julietabulie (talkcontribs) 15:26, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Want to help add to the Nintendo 3DS section.

I want to beef up the 3D Movie section by turning into a "3D Video Content" section with sources directly from Nintendo about streaming TV shows for both the Japanese and European markets. However the article has some kind of "auto-confirmed lock" on it. How can I bypass this? Can you add me in or something?

Hi, I see you're already autoconfirmed, so try it again, and if it doesn't work, come talk to me and I'll see what I can find out. Courcelles 01:39, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Possible proxy

Hi KK. Please see User talk:Daniel Case#User talk:Lyanaz unblock request. I reduced the hardblock to anon-only per uncertainty as to whether this is a proxy. When you return, if you are sure it's an open proxy, you are welcome to reblock it. I was not able to activate it. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 20:00, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi There;

Hope you are doing fine. I came to know that you deleted the page on One World Academy. i just wanted to request if it will be allowed to carry some basic information as it has the sole intention of helping people enhance their mental states and life and it has clear references from reliable sources about the foundation. please try visiting www.oneworldacademy.com

I understand your criteria for deletion but i felt a request might always work.

Thankyou.

WikiCup 2011 January newsletter

We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. Signups are now closed, and we have 129 listed competitors, 64 of whom will make it to round two. Congratulations to The Bushranger (submissions), who, at the time of writing, has a comfortable lead with 228 points, followed by Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions), with 144 points. Four others have over 100 points. Congratulations also go to Greece Yellow Evan (submissions), who scored the first points in the competition, claiming for Talk:Hurricane King/GA1, Principality of Sealand Miyagawa (submissions), who scored the first non-review points in the competition, claiming for Dognapping, and United Kingdom Jarry1250 (submissions) who was the first in the competition to use our new "multiplier" mechanic (explanation), claiming for Grigory Potemkin, a subject covered on numerous Wikipedias. Thanks must also go to Jarry1250 for dealing with all bot work- without you, the competition wouldn't be happening!

A running total of claims can be seen here. However, numerous competitors are yet to score at all- please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. The number of points that will be needed to reach round two is not clear- everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Hello! (Mentor inquiry?)

Hi there, I came across your name on the list of mentors for the US Public Policy Initiative. I too am an avid R.E.M. fan and Mac user, and I'm excited to be participating in this project. Anywho, I'm also looking for a mentor to help me get the hang of this whole wikipedia thing. If you're interested, let me know. Thanks! Dglasser13 (talk) 02:58, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mentor

Hi Katie!

I understand you are not feeling very well. I just wanted to inform you that I currently have a mentor. I hope you feel better and thanks for your time! Julietabulie (talk) 02:08, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Online Mentor

Hello Katie,

I am currently taking Federal Indian Law and Policy at Montana State University (a class participating in the USPP program). I am very new to Wikipedia and was hoping to have you as a mentor during this very confusing process! Thanks so much...

Hope all is going well

I see you've been off for nearly 3 weeks. I hope you're not feeling as bad as the length of your absence seems to indicate. Get well soon! --AussieLegend (talk) 05:37, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will you be my mentor?

Hi Katie,

I'm part of the Wiki project in the classroom to expand Wikipedia's coverage of various academic issues. I'm working on creating the "Point Source Water Pollution" as part of my Environmental Economics class at Indiana University (I'm pursuing a joint Masters degree in Env. Science and Public Policy). We are required to find a mentor for the duration of the project.
