Macleod College is a co-educational, Prep to Year Twelve school located on the corner of May and Carwarp Streets, Macleod, Melbourne, Australia.[1] The College grew out of the merger of Macleod High School and Macleod Primary School in 2000. It has two sister schools, the Geschwister Scholl Gymansium (GSG) in Düsseldorf, Germany and the Hauibei Experimental School in the Anhui province in China.

Macleod College is next to the Macleod railway station and shares facilities with the adjacent Banyule NETS netball stadium.

Incidents

  • On 26 October 2009, a group of males assaulted three students at the school.[2][3] Youth worker Les Twentyman said gangs "invade schools to continue disputes that happen outside school hours", and these incidents are becoming a major issue.[4]
  • On December 19, 2009, a fire was started in the early hours, causing $500,000 damage; destroying two classrooms and a storeroom.[5] Police believe the blaze was deliberately lit.[6]
