::No, you didn't get what I was saying, I ment was - Yes there is still ongoing fighting but it will probably be over in a day or so but after that there will be clean-up operations house-to-house, and so the battle will probably not compleatly end for a few more weeks. And they're royalists actualy not democrats. :) [[User:EkoGraf|EkoGraf]] ([[User talk:EkoGraf|talk]]) 02:53, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Links needs a major overhaul - several seem completely unrelated to the issues allegedly discussed.99.240.131.60 (talk) 06:14, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't this be decribed as a siege? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.73.141.184 (talk) 12:35, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Qaddafi victory?

Are we sure? I haven't seen that confirmed yet, and the report speaks only of "a witness" claiming that; AFAIK, the battle is still going on. —Nightstallion 18:47, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't seen it confirmed either. I think the valid description of the situation right now is "unclear". But it's likely going to be difficult to define victory in this situation. Nanobear (talk) 19:19, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just for reference: This source from just an hour ago states Zawiyah is still being fought over, and not yet in Qaddafi's hands. —Nightstallion 22:23, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the situation is just like in Fallujah or Vukovar where most of the fighting will be over, but sporadic pockets of resistance will still put up a fight for another few weeks before they are all cleared.EkoGraf (talk) 23:29, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's not what the latest sources say, actually. According to them, the fight is either ongoing or on hold, with the democrats still holding the centre. —Nightstallion 00:27, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is hard to get trustworthy sources about the battle for the city in particular. The wisest thing is probably to leave it as "ongoing" until there's something unequivocal that says otherwise. Sarejo (talk) 13:58, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
