The Big Year is an upcoming comedy film starring Owen Wilson, Steve Martin, Jack Black, Rashida Jones, Angelica Huston, Dianne Wiest, JoBeth Williams, Jim Parsons, Brian Dennehy, Rosamund Pike and Tim Blake Nelson. The Big Year is directed by David Frankel and written by Howard Franklin. The film is based on the book "The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession" which was written by Mark Obmascik. The film is set to be released on October 14th, 2011.[2] Filming began on March 3, 2011.[3] The film will be released in both the United Kingdom and the United States on this date.[4]

Plot

A group of men who are obsessed with birdwatching set on the quest to outdo each other by finding the most species of birds in North America. Their competition is allegory to the challenges faced in their lives.[5]

Production

The Big Year is to filmed in a number of locations in Canada and the United States including Tofino, British Columbia, Osoyoos, British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia and Attu Island in Canada and Atlanta, Georgia in the United States.[6] The movie is also set to be released countries such as Germany, Netherlands and Norway.[1]
