hi Mil -- you mean, something not already in our [[Old Testament]] and [[Bible code]] articles? You will have to ask more specific questions then. "Bible codes" are statistical fata morganas. Re:Political Integration of India

Yo! good work on the Brit India map. I've put up both on the article. Thanks for your help holmes. Before you go on break, I hope you will voice your opinion of the article on the peer review - much value your advice on raising it to FA-level. Rama's Arrow 17:42, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Miljoshi - Listen, thanks for your help on the maps issue. You certainly saved the article's chances at FA by making the BritIndia map, becoz I fear some complication will arise regarding the now-deleted Spanish map.

I've incorporated your Bismark note. Mountbatten's concerns of civil conflict are mentioned at the bottom of the Hyderabad section.

I understand you're on break, but I hope you will have a chance to check the article this weekend and give us a final vote of confidence. I hope that the article will be ready for FA nomination by the upcoming Monday/Tuesday. Hope you'll be around when it comes to the vote. Thanks again, Rama's Arrow 19:20, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

trolls

I am afraid the definition of "internet troll" is loose, and it is not an official status on WP (such as under probation, in mediation, etc.); strictly speaking, calling someone a troll is alleging that they mishbehave or act stupid in spite of knowing better. This is almost impossible to prove. Calling someone a troll is actually assuming intelligence the user may not have, and I've said people were "trolling" even in cases where I actually thought they really were seriously incapable of grasping wikiquette or policy, or even the concept of an encyclopedia. There are various "vigilante" user teams, but I tend to think this is a bad idea. Users may communicate off wiki as the necessity arises. It is ok to call other users for support against misbehaving users, but it is frowned upon to smear users you are in conflict with in all possible and impossible places. The proper way to deal with trolls is

  1. ignore them, and let them run into WP:3RR
  2. if they dominate an article, by sockpuppetry or meatpuppetry, or just by superhuman obstinancy, call for WP:PR, or ask admins to judge the user's "disruptiveness" at WP:AN/I
  3. if the case is not blatant enough for disruption blocks, you'll have no other choice than WP:RfC. A good faith user will listen to criticism expressed there. If they don't you may have to go to arbitration, which will of course mean your own behaviour is scrutinized too.

no idea. any context? You say, you created the image? Did you make it up, or copy it from somewhere? dab () 10:56, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

right.... I didn't get it; please do :) dab () 11:24, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

why? it's nice -- I was squinting too hard :) I prefer monograms that don't give themselves away at first sight, in fact I will be proud to sport my custom made monogram on my user page. dab () 11:45, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vikramaditya

The image seems to be of a manuscript of the "Kalakacharya Kathanaka" discussed in the section. But the article needs quite some cleanup, and above all verifiable sources. It is unclear what is legendary, and what was proposed as historical nucleus of the legend, by whom. dab () 10:33, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

oh, and Mil, when moving articles, you should use the "move" button. Otherwise the edit history is left behind. It is not evident now that the bulk of the article was written by Ananthp (talk · contribs), which is strictly speaking a violation of GFDL. dab () 10:38, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images

Yeah, they're all CC images. Cheers :) deeptrivia (talk) 12:38, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great

really great, you can do it faster than me. You created so many stubs that now only one is left there. --Bhadani 09:50, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kuruntwad?

Hi MilJoshi,

  1. Nice work on expanding the Kurundwad page, but I see you have redirected it to "Kuruntwad". I think this is because you found that "Kuruntwad" is the first-mentioned name in the 1911 entry, but then "Cawnpore" is probably what we find in that book for "Kanpur". I suspect it is an anglecization, because nowhere else have I come across the spelling with 't', as you will find from a quick google. Actually, I had been meaning to include "Kurduwadi" as the alternative name, but delayed pending confirmation. Maybe you would like to confirm both points: spelling and alternative "Kurduwadi" and fix redirects appropriately? Thanx, ImpuMozhi 16:02, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Can you direct me to the resource (hopefully online?) where you took the text of the 1911 encyclopaedia from? It would be such a good source of matter for so many of my pieces. ImpuMozhi 16:02, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maps

In response to your comment on my talk page.

No, :( I haven't made the maps yet.... --Spundun 18:04, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vapi

Why there is so much deletion of data on this page especially about restaurants and external links (URLs) ?

FAC

Hi Miljoshi, I see you're on break, but I'm hoping you'll see this sometime this week - the Political integration of India is now FAC. I hope you will have some time to consider the work and give it an up or down vote. Please don't consider this soliciting - I'm requesting your participation. Thanks! Re: Image:GrandPrix Circuit Monaco 2006.svg

WOW. Very cool, and thank you for creating these, and others to the Wiki. -slowpokeiv 16:39, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

...for the maps of Rajasthan, Gujarat, etc. They are handsome maps, and are great contributions to the district and state articles. Thanks, too for the link to the princely states web site; It has proved to be a useful site to fact-check princely state articles. Best, Tom Radulovich 03:39, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jus' back!

Guess what? I too was on a wikibreak for a week and I'm back now. A look at your contribs suggests that you're back as well. I am pinging you as I needed your help in rendering an image - the background is that I have been active in updating DYK on the Main Page on a regular basis and some of us have felt a need to have a barnstar/medal that could be awarded to people who make great suggestions (both quantitatively and qualitatively) that get featured. The relevant discussion and images can be found here. Of the four images by User:Bushytails, the third seems to be the most favorite but could be rendered in a more appealing manner. Also, we seem to be veering round to the view that it should be a medal and not a barnstar a la the FA medal. Could you render the third brnstar design by User:Bushytails (the one with the edges sparkling now and then) in a medal format and in an appealing (to the eyes) format? If you are able to do so, please list it on the WP:BAP page and we'd be able to take it up from there. TIA, --Gurubrahma 09:44, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kind attention

Hello, I would request you to please see discussion on my user page about nominating User:Deeptrivia fro adminship. Please give your comments there. --Bhadani 16:47, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Miljoshi

Hi, good to see your msg. Actually, someone else did come up with an alternate design of a medal on WP:BAP but it may need some sparkles to be added on as animation but evn otherwise, it seems ok. Life on WP is going on as usual, with controversies on userboxes, fair use of TIME covers and celebrations on creation of the millionth article. --Gurubrahma 09:33, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
