UST Global headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California is a provider of IT services. The company was founded in Laguna Hills in 1998 by Stephen J. Ross.

G A Menon was born in North Paravur in Ernakulam district, Kerala, South India. He majored in mathematics from Madras University and then graduated from Harvard Business School. He began his career as a Systems Manager with IBM in India. When IBM closed its India operations in 1978, he set up Multi Tech Systems, which then merged with Venture Manufacturing Singapore Ltd. in 1989. Venture Manufacturing is today one of the largest electronics manufacturing companies in the world.

He was also the Founder-Chairman of U.S.-based Magnecomp International. The company was a manufacturer of suspension assembly, an extremely high-precision component used in the read/write heads of hard disk drives used in computers. Magnecomp went public in Singapore in 1998. Today it is the world's second largest manufacturer of suspension assemblies with operations in the U.S., Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Singapore.

At the time that he founded UST Global, G A Menon started another company, Toonz Animation in Los Angeles, USA. Later, Toonz Animation established a state-of-the-art animation studio, Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd., in Technopark Trivandrum, India. Toonz Animation is today the largest animation studio in southeast Asia.

He played a pivotal role in the formation of TiE Kerala, both from within India and from California. He contributed significantly to the formation of the Kerala Support Group in California, aimed at entrepreneurial development in his home state, Kerala.

In a life celebrated by corporate achievement, G A Menon was Chairman of 14 companies across the globe. G A Menon was a person who deeply influenced the world around him. His passing away in 2003 was, for us, an irreparable loss.

Every day, associates working across the U.S., India, Malaysia, and Europe set new standards in global IT sourcing and delivery. Every day, we surpass client expectations and set new benchmarks. Each of these milestones in services excellence reflects our founding vision.

We believe that enterprises have a responsibility to society. As a company, in all of our decisions, actions, and plans we honor this responsibility.

UST Global's campus model.

UST Global has started its expansion plans in Trivandrum with the construction of an own campus, near Technopark. The proposed campus is spread over 36 acres (150,000 m2). The campus will also feature a 12-acre (49,000 m2) waterbody channeling through the various blocks of the campus. The first phase of the campus is expected to be complete by end of 2011.[6]

Cisco will use its Smart+Connected Real Estate Solution to wire up the campus.[7] This will converge building, safety, and communications networks onto the open Internet Protocol (IP) standard, streamlining processes by providing a single connection for building management and IT systems. The IP-based network will reduce capital expenditure by simplifying building design and construction, and also enable building managers to reduce carbon footprint and build a sustainable and more energy-efficient environment. This will help the campus achieve a higher rating on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.[8]

Controversy

In early 2008, California arbitrators ruled that US Technology Resources, LLC must pay Stephen J. Ross US $7.5 million for his founding interest in the company. The company had disputed the extent of Ross's actual contributions. The arbitration award was then confirmed by the Los Angeles Superior Court and judgment entered in Ross' favor.[9][10].
