Hooro

Every Oromo clan and every Oromo related group all decsend from Hooro. The Oromo Peoples, all have oral stories descending from Hooro, or "Oromoo". Hooro's linage goes: Horo (Oromo) Waaqo Daadhii Uttee Biite Walaabu Jilicha Dawwaaro Oofa Shara Haadiya Raabo Doori Xaabbo Mormor Maamma Warar Waayyu Gooda Marii Galaan Waado Shunkur 'Iraam (Ra'ama) Kuush Xaam Nuux

The Oromo are divided into two major branches that break down into an assortment of clan families. From west to east and north to south, these subgroups are as listed:
