The Acacia Strain is an American band from Springfield, Massachusetts. Even though the band is commonly classified as deathcore, the members of the band deny the label, and feel they are just "heavy". All Music Guide describes the band as alternative metal and characterizes their musical style as "utiliz[ing] a bone-crushing rhythm section, apocalyptic samples, and a unique triple-guitar assault to deliver their signature blend of hardcore, noise, and death and doom metal." Originally founded in 2001, the band itself has undergone numerous changes in the member line-up. To date they have released five studio albums, as well as two split albums; one with Loyal To The Grave on which they cover the Slayer song "Seasons In The Abyss" and another with This Or The Apocalypse, War From A Harlot's Mouth, Fact, and Aggressive Dogs.
