Zakaria Botros (Arabic: زكريا بطرس, born on 24 October 1934) is a Coptic priest from Egypt. He is a controversial figure in that country and throughout the Islamic world for his critiques of the Quran and other books of Islam. Father Botros has received applause from places such as World Magazine, which awarded him as the Daniel of the Year for 2008.[1]

He is particularly noteworthy for broadcasting on Al Hayat TV, which started broadcasting in 2003.

The book "Defying Death: Zakaria Botross: Apostle to Islam," written by Stuart Robinson and Peter Botross, is a biography of Zakaria Botros. It was published in 2008

In early 2010, Father Botros retired from Al hayat TV Christian channel that introduced him to the public. When asked about the reason, Brother Rashid, one of Al hayat most notable hosts, said that Father Zakaria decided to broadcast a channel of his own. The channel was opened in April 2011 to the public and it was named "Al Fady" Channel. The channel broadcasts to North America and yet to be open soon in the Middle East.[2]
