The story of the movie blood and sand (spansh name sanger y arena) revolves around the young and talented natural gifted toreros juan gallardo played by christopher rydel who want to become popular in the whole country and world due to his natural talent. He has friend who is cousin of her love carmen (role played by ana torrent). He and his friend left their home and in the local competition juan succeeded up to some level to control the bull but when bull strikes with juan then his friend sacrified his life to save juan. chris rydel then left his home and he met first with a very rich lady dona sol (role played by sharon stone), where sharon stone offered him to join his company to be worker of her fields and lands, but juan said he will be superstar of nation and will be known for his great bull fighting ability in future. When juan was leaving her home, her servant and secuirity guard tells him to join the trainer (nacional)role played by albert vidal, juan meets nacional and nacional gives him training. Juan does briiliant job in traing and suddenly he is promoted to national league of bull fighting. His other known person garabato (role played by Guillermo Montesinos) also joins him. He did brilliant skills in his first appearance of national league, he got popularity and his brother in law Simón Andreu gave him great respect after the very harsh behaviour which he did on him at his friend's death. |

Juan then married to carmen and his poularity increases week after week due to his brilliant skills, but during this bull fighting league juan gets crush on dona sol the very rich lady and this starts dramatic twist in the movie. Juan had also rivally with other bull fighters and the love of juan and donal sol made juan to make differences with his wife carmen, Juan offered donal sol to marry with him but dona sol was not interested in the marriage, carmen the wife of juan came to donal sol and they have talk and then finally the greedy rich lady says that juan is with her and she shows that juan is hiding in her private room, this causes great difference between juan and his wife. After sometime one of the rival bull fighter of juan makes an affair with donal sol, at one night in the hotel juan slaps to the face of dona sol because she is taking interest in talking with juan's bull fighting rival, donal sol lets juan and goes to her home in her car with juan's rival , then juan drinks too much and comes to his office with bar girls, his master nacional tells him to focus on bull fighting final competition not on bar girls, juan also slaps on the face of nacional, nacional leaves the room and says nothing to juan, juan then realises that he has done terrible mistakes in his past and he calls to his wife but she is not happy with him and she drops his call after some words. When final of the national bull fighting competition comes then garabato is only person who stans with the corner of juan, nacional only comes to watch the show, on the other side at the homeof nacional, his wife, sister and elders are praying for him, his brother in law emphasizes his wife to go out ad supports her husband by aming very high volume of TV, when competition starts, juan does disappointment in performance, but when his wife came nacional tells that you should say sorry to your wife and will have to do great job, juan then throws his cap to carmen and juan then does best performance of his career and his wife was very happy, but when the time comes to put sword into the eyes of bull, something happes that no one believes which bull do with juan after such great performance, the bull horns strikes into the stomach of juan and juan gets serious injuries, juan is pushed up by his team and doctors does all the best but juan dies at the end of the movie, while juan's bull fighting rival throws his cap to donal sol and does great job in bull fighting. The movie ends when carmen (juan's wife) and nacional (juan's trainer) are weeping and crying on the death of juan and hundreds of people are holding juan's rival on their shoulders. |

Blood and Sand (Spanish: Sangre y arena) is a 1989 Spanish drama film directed by Javier Elorrieta and starring Chris Rydell, Sharon Stone, and Ana Torrent. It was based on the novel Blood and Sand of Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, which had been made three times before in 1916, 1922 and 1941.
