Demi Lovato is an American singer–songwriter and actress. Her discography consists of two studio albums, three soundtrack albums and eight singles. Prior to launching her music career, Lovato starred as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel musical television film Camp Rock, which first aired on June 20, 2008. The accompanying soundtrack was released three days earlier and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold 188,000 copies in its first week of release, and was ultimately certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Lovato's duet with Joe Jonas, "This Is Me", was released as a single and peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. Lovato's debut single, "Get Back", was released in August 2008 and peaked at number forty-two in the United States. Her debut studio album, Don't Forget, was released in September 2008, and entered the Billboard 200 at number two, selling 89,000 copies in its first week. The album spawned two more singles; "La La Land" and the titular track, peaking at number fifty-two and forty-one in the US, respectively. The album has sold 473,000 copies in the US, and was certified gold by the RIAA.

Lovato's second studio album, Here We Go Again, was released in July 2009. It was preceded by the lead single of the same title, which peaked at number fifteen on the Billboard Hot 100, therefore becoming Lovato's highest peaking solo song on the chart. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 108,000 copies. "Remember December" was released as the album's second and final single, and managed to reach number eighty on the UK Singles Chart. Lovato first debuted as a recording artist in 2008, in the soundtrack to a Disney Channel Original Movie, titled Camp Rock. A few months later, she served as the opening act for fellow-"Camp Rockers", Jonas Brothers and released her debut studio album, Don't Forget, which peaked at no. 2 in Billboard 200. Later, in summer of 2009, Lovato headed for her first headlining tour and released her second album, Here We Go Again; it peaked at no. 1 in Billboard 200.

Lovato's biggest hit to-date is "This Is Me", a duet with Joe Jonas which peaked at no. 9 in the Hot 100, released from Camp Rock. The lead single from her second album Here We Go Again, titled the same, is following.

It sold 188,000 copies in its first week of release,[1] and was ultimately certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[2] Lovato's duet with Joe Jonas, "This Is Me", was released as a single and peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. Lovato's debut single, "Get Back", was released in August 2008 and peaked at number forty-two in the United States. Her debut studio album, Don't Forget, was released in September 2008, and entered the Billboard 200 at number two, selling 89,000 copies in its first week.[3] The album spawned two more singles; "La La Land" and the titular track, peaking at number fifty-two and forty-one in the US, respectively. The album has sold 473,000 copies in the US,[4] and was certified gold by the RIAA.[5]

Lovato's second studio album, Here We Go Again, was released in July 2009. It was preceded by the lead single of the same title, which peaked at number fifteen on the Billboard Hot 100, therefore becoming Lovato's highest peaking solo song on the chart. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 108,000 copies.[3] "Remember December" was released as the album's second and final single, and managed to reach number eighty on the UK Singles Chart. To date, the album has sold over 396,000 copies in the US.[4] In August 2010, the soundtrack to Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam was released, debuting at number three on the Billboard 200 with 41,000 copies sold.[6] The soundtrack to Lovato's starring television series Sonny with a Chance was released in October of the same year, debuting at number 163.

Lovato's third studio album is set for a release in the fall of 2011,[7] and will see the singer incorporating R&B genres.[8] The first single, "Skyscraper", was released on July 12, 2011.[9] As of April 2011, Lovato has sold 968,000 albums in the United States.[10]
