Boy Eats Girl is a 2005 horror film directed by Stephen Bradley and starring Samantha Mumba, produced and filmed in Ireland.^[1] The plot tells of a teenage boy who comes back to life as a zombie, similar to the plot of My Boyfriend's Back.

Release

The film was the first non-pornographic movie for some years to be banned by the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO), due to a depiction of suicide. While the scene was not cut from the movie, the IFCO appeals board overturned the ban, issuing a 15A rating.^[2]

The film was released on DVD on December 18, 2007.^[3]

-The film begins with Grace, Nathan's mother, working in the basement of a church - she happens upon a hidden tunnel which leads to a crypt. She explores the crypt to find odd artifacts and a voodoo ritual book, she browses several pages but is then chased away by the priest.
-Nathan, Diggs, Henry, and Jessica are long time friends. The four pull up to Jessica's house and after she leaves the car the three boys dicuss Nathan's crush on Jessica, Nathan claims he'd rather be friends than nothing at all and is afraid if he asks Jessica out and she rejects him they'll no longer be friends. The following day the boys discuss the school party coming up, which leads to talk of girls. Henry takes Nathan's cell phone and sends a text message to Jessica's phone telling her to meet Nathan at the shack. Nathan plans to finally reveal to Jessica how he feels, however as Jessica attempts to sneak out her father catches her and tells her to go back to her room. She tries to call Nathan but he has no cell service at the shack. Jessica finally sneaks out of her house but by the time she makes it to the cabin Nathan has left, but she finds one of the notes confessing his feelings to her crumbled up on the floor. Nathan left the shack to use a payphone to call Jessica but her father tells him she left, that she went out with another boy who he found more worthy of his daughter. Jessica begins to walk home during a rain storm and another boy from school, Kenneth, drives up and offers her a ride home. In the car Kenneth tells Jessica she should be with him but Jessica turns him down - she drops something on the floor and leans down to pick it up just as Nathan is passing and Nathan believes Jessica and Kenneth are fooling around sexually. Nathan goes home and begins drinking Whisky, he notices the noose hanging on his wall. At the last minute he hesitates and tries to pull the noose off, only for his mother to walk into his room, knock him off the chair and turn his music down. Turning around, she notices him hanging there, dead. Nathan's mother remembers the reanimation spell in the voodoo book and uses it to bring Nathan back to life. The next morning he wakes up with no memory of his death; he complains his throat is dry and goes off to school shrugging off his mother's concerns.
-At school Nathan is distant towards Jessica, when Henry and Diggs ask about the meeting at the shack Nathan tells them Jessica never showed and that he went home, got drunk, and blacked out. In the school bathroom Nathan overhears a conversation between Samson, Shane and Kenneth. Samson tells a story of his story, and not wanting to be out done Kenneth makes up a story about him and Jessica which Nathan believes to be true. As Nathan is leaving the school Jessica confronts him and attempts to apologize for not meeting him at the shack but Nathan believes she blew him off to have sex with another boy so Nathan then calls Jessica a slut and says "you're just like all the other girls". Jessica slaps him and walks off. While Nathan is at school his mother begins to clean up the mess created during the voodoo ritual but is interrupted by a knock on the door, it is the priest from the church - he says the voodoo book is missing and that if she has it to return it at once. He tells her how the book was once used to bring the dead back to life but then the book was damaged and the people brought back to life became soulless bodies who craved human flesh. While Nathan and his mother are in the car together she begins asking him about how he is feeling, concerned that he may be a zombie but does not want to tell him about what happened. Later on at the school disco, Cheryl, Samsons girlfriend, takes an interest in Nathan, and so Samson antagonizes Nathan. Nathan bites Samson, in the middle of the school field, creating the first of the infected - though Samson is not like Nathan, he is a mindless zombie craving only flesh and almost immediately begins feeding off any human possible.
-The next day when Nathan empties the contents of the fridge claiming he is starving his mother finally admits she knows how he feels because she performed a ritual on him but made a mistake, that the ritual was not performed correctly. Nathan asks her if it is contagious, when she doesn't answer he realizes it is in fact contagious and he runs out of the house to find Samson. He returns to the spot he bite Samson only to find a bloody trail, and follows it to find a lifeless woman's corpse. He runs to the police station, and attempts to tell the police but they laugh and send him away. Meanwhile, Henry and Diggs are waiting for Nathan so they can pick a film from a video store. They decide to go ahead without him, and when reaching the counter see the boy who's meant to be at the counter eating another man. They then scream and run out. Hiding behind some bins, they see more infected chasing a woman. They hide, and one comes back, looks around and leaves again. Noticing this is not just a one-insane-person situation, they look up, seeing a dead body hanging over them. They scream and run again.
-Nathan returns home to find his mother has locked him out, saying she will "fix this". He sits in the garage. Henry and Diggs get into their car, see the infected and duck. The infected head towards Jessica's house, and they call her and tell her to hide. They then drive to Nathan's house, and Nathan drags them into the garage. They see Nathans face and gasp, noticing that he must be infected as well, though he can speak and isn't trying to kill them. Diggs and Henry tell Nathan the infected headed towards Jessica's house, Nathan tells them they have to get to her. In the car he explains as best he can what he is, that he feels the hunger but is fighting it though its becoming increasingly harder to fight.
-Jessica wards off a few infected, and hides in the barn. Nathan and crew arrive, and Nathan runs into the barn. Meanwhile Cheryl and her friend Glenda are propositioned in a bar by Jessica's unscrupulous father. He is attacked by a zombie barman, and subsequently killed. Cheryl and Glenda escape a few infected from the bar and run through a graveyard, encountering an infected Charlotte, who bites Glenda. Cheryl steals her teacher's motorcycle and is chased all the way to Jessica's house. Cheryl, Henry and Diggs hide in a closet from the infected. Nathan explains a few things to Jessica, and Cheryl, Henry and Diggs climb out of the closet.
-Nathans mother goes back to the church to return the book, and gets attacked by the priest. She grabs a snake that was slithering around since the start and lets it bite him. The Priest is returned to normal. She realizes the bite of the snake is the cure, that it will return anyone infected back to their human self. She grabs the snake and runs from the church - and stuffs the snake into a compartment before racing off to find Nathan.
-Back at Jessica's house Diggs, Henry, and Cheryl are attacked by zombies - Nathan attacks one zombie and kills him but then the four are quickly surrounded by the undead when Jessica comes out with her father's tractor and distracts the zombies long enough for Cheryl, Diggs, and Henry to run off while Nathan hides behind a tree to wait for Jessica. With the tractor Jessica cuts most of the infected. They all run back into the barn. While hiding in the barn a zombie punches through a wall and grabs Cheryl, the others quickly climb a ladder to get away and pull the ladder up so Samson cannot follow. Cheryl is killed by Samson and Shane. Nathan's condition is worsening. They break open the diesel fuel tank, with the plan of burning the zombies below when Nathan's mother drives through and throws the snake to Nathan telling him to let it bite him because it will make him human again. The snake slithers away before Nathan can get to it and his mother is unable to start the car again - Samson grabs a pipe and drives it thru the windshield missing Nathan's mother but seeing her in danger Nathan throws himeself down to save his mother and kills Samson by ripping his head off his body and at this time Nathan is no longer able to fight the hunger and climbs back up to his friends with the intent to eat them - other zombies follow. Jessica hands Nathan a bale of hay on fire and attempts to get through to his human side - Nathan turns and hands off the bale of hay pushing the other zombies down and at this time the snake bites Nathan on the leg turning him human again but one zombie grabs his legs and he falls down below which is quickly ablaze. Jessica, Diggs, and Henry assume Nathan is killed in the fire but as they walk down the street leaving Jessica's house it is shown that Nathan's shirt was caught on the ledge and that he is still alive - he wakes up and escapes the fire. He then drives down the street to catch up to his friends using the mo ped Cheryl stole from her teacher who crashed it. Nathan says to Jessica "I have something to ask you..."  Jessica proceeds to say back, "The answer is yes." Jessica and Nathan kiss while Diggs asks Henry what the question was.
