Saroli is a small village near famous hillstation Kausani,Uttarakhand. It is full of nature having a river flowing nearby the village and a waterfall also. All the time of the year people of this village work hard and always live in harmony with nature and forest.

History

History dates back to about some 1000 or more years ago, as per the elders once where now saroli village is situated, a lion or many tiger used to live they all started killing pet animals and humans, so the king said the person who will kill that animal will be awarded as landlord of that land, so ancestors of the villagers living near kausani kill the beast and now their surname is BISHT. The name saroli came as lion is called sher and as saroli village has many water sources roli so this can be sherroli and name changed to saroli with time.

How to Reach

The village is connected with a light vehicle road with ALMORA-KAUSANI-BAGESHWAR road at kausani,the road is about 15 km due to large number of curves but its only about 7–10 km with forest walk and some uphill-downhill. Its about 5–7 km road trip and 3–4 km traking trip from the GAURUR(about 25 km from kausani).

Climate

climate is always cool with sometimes snowfall in winter,and a heavy rainfall makes flora and funa to grow rapidly. the hill above village act as huge tank and stores rainwater for the villagers.Then also there is a river following nearby the village which provides water.

Crops

Here rice and wheat are the main crop,apart from this villagers grow onions,potatoes, diffrent fruits like grapes,plum,peach and many more.the river water is source of irrigation for all crops and sometime for drinking purpose. it is also said that once only salt was brought from almora in horse back and the villagers not required anything from the outside world.they still grow all the spices and vegetables.
