Theresa Meeker (born February 6, 1986) is an Italian-American actress who appeared in several films.[1][2][3]

Early Life and Education

Theresa hails from Williamson County, Tennessee although she was raised in Sumatra, Indonesia by mother Judith Meeker and father Dr. William Meeker MD.[4] In an interview with Matthew Saliba of Rogue Cinema, Theresa says that she was inspired to act because, "While I was growing up I loved reading and writing. Some of my favorite books, such as Harriet the Spy and Matilda which I read dozens of times, were turned into movies. I thought that I could have played the protagonist better because I knew the character so well."[5]Theresa studied film and television acting at the performing arts school Michael Howard Studios as well as Larry Singer Studios in New York City. She received a BA in history from Flagler College of St. Augustine, Florida and she is currently pursuing a Master of Education in elementary education at Vanderbilt University Peabody College of Education with several scholarships.[6]

Film Career

Theresa associate produced and starred in avant-garde short film Look which won an Award of Merit for best student film in the 2009 Accolade Competition as well as an Award of Merit for best experimental film in the 2011 Best Shorts Competition while it received an important 4-star review from Film Threat.[7][8] [9][10][11][12][13][14] Theresa plays a supermodel who is being pursued by an overly-eager barmaid.[15][16]

Matthew Saliba of Rogue Cinema calls Theresa's character in Look a "ravishing bombshell."[5] Theresa has appeared in commercials as well as print work and numerous films.[1][17] In an interview with Saliba for Rogue Cinema, Theresa says, "Acting means to me that I reveal my heart and soul in front of other people while I do the most mundane things as well as things I typically wouldn’t want them to see. I hope my acting shows people that they can pause and examine the small beautiful things in life."[5] While interviewing Theresa, Saliba says, "Actresses are a dime a dozen with very few of them having the chops and Old Hollywood flavor to truly catapult them into the mainstream or at least into our mind's eye, long after we've seen them perform. Thankfully, that is not the case with Theresa Meeker."[5]
