The first sentence of the article includes the phrase "with a newer or better version." If the word 'or' is interpreted to be exclusive, then the replacement hardware/software may not be both newer AND better. As a longtime user of computers, I agree with the exclusive interpretation as most times the newer software is not better, just newer. However, the meaning is ambiguous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.144.63.24 (talk) 16:59, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Upgrade refers to a better model of anything. Not just computers or audio stuff. Does anyone object to me deleting the whole article?

Wiktionary?

Perhaps this belongs in the wikitionary? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.37.226.7 (talkcontribs)

Wiktionary:upgrade exists, so I am adding the wiktionary template to Upgrade. --Teratornis 23:06, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, I did not notice there was already a wiktionary at the top of the article. --Teratornis 23:16, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Software upgrade

What about upgrading of software (I mean licensing etc. issues).--Kozuch (talk) 15:56, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation and additional possible entries for 'Upgrade'

'Upgrade' has wider meaning than just its popular contemporary application to CS. I was looking for a strict definition vis-a-vis stock analysis. There should be a disambiguation description. I'm not really a wikipaedist, otherwise I'd do it. Just a suggestion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daleroes (talkcontribs) 20:58, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It may also be useful to consider the airline industry use of 'upgrade' to mean an improvement in seating class. Elgordon (talk) 04:55, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Use of the word 'or' is ambiguous

The first sentence of the article includes the phrase "with a newer or better version." If the word 'or' is interpreted to be exclusive, then the replacement hardware/software may not be both newer AND better. As a longtime user of computers, I agree with the exclusive interpretation as most times the newer software is not better, just newer. However, the meaning is ambiguous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.144.63.24 (talk) 16:59, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article is not very good

Upgrade refers to a better model of anything. Not just computers or audio stuff. Does anyone object to me deleting the whole article?
