Danball Senki (ダンボール戦機, Danbōru Senki) lit. "Cardboard Chronicles" is a 2011 Japanese anime television series produced by Level-5 under the direction of Naohito Takahashi. Based on a plastic-model-building role-playing game, Danball Senki was broadcast in Japan on the TV Tokyo Network starting March 2, 2011. Dentsu Entertainment USA has also confirmed that they have licensed the Little Battlers eXperience (Danball Senki) anime in the U.S, though there's no word on a set airdate [1] A sequel series, Danball Senki W (Dabaru) (ダンボール戦機W(ダブル), Cardboard Chronicles W, also read as Cardboard Chronicles Double) has been announced.
Development
In August 2009, Japanese game developer Level-5 announced new anime/manga series were under production to accompany the release of their latest robot game, Danball Senki. Bandai will also release a series of plastic models featuring the characters from the game.[2] Although initially set for release in 2010, the anime series began airing on the TV Tokyo Network starting March 2, 2011 while the game launched on June 16, 2011.[3] The manga series is serialized in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Comic beginning with the February 2011 issue.[4]
