Leoni AG, based in Nuremberg, Germany, is a cable and harnessing manufacturing firm with branches throughout the world.

Leoni made all cables and powercords for Dell and Gateway 2000 during the dot-com boom of the 1990s in their plant in Birr, Offaly, Ireland, which was then moved to Slovakia.

It is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and is a member of the mid-cap MDAX index, and is claimed as global leader of cable systems[2].

Leoni AG is one of the world largest manufacturers and distributors of cables, wires, and systems of those. With about 59,000 employees worldwide and presence in 30 countries Leoni holds leading position on European market.

2010 reflects Leoni AG confident recovery from failure 2008 and 2009, with revenue up 36.8% to EUR 3 billion and net income up 148.6% to EUR 67.1 million. Such strong improvement was caused by fast recovery of automotive industry and large number of big-scale products in wiring systems division. However 2011 financial results were not so impressive.

On 2012 Hanover Trade Fair Leoni AG has introduced new and innovative products designed for concentrated solar power plants. The new products include instrumentation cables, low-voltage cables, bus cables, optical cables, and hybrid cables. New cables are invoked to reduce construction costs, get connected on land and in the air and be environmentally competitive. These products will form a basis for Leoni leading position in the market of environmental technologies cables.[3]
