Nicholas "Nick" D'Agosto (born April 17, 1980) is an American television and film actor.
Early life
D'Agosto was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Deanna Rae (Vellinga) and Alen D'Agosto, who own several Arby's in Omaha.[1][2] His father is Italian and his mother is of Dutch and English descent. He was raised Catholic and selected Genesius of Rome, the patron saint of actors, as his confirmation name.[3] D'Agosto was very involved in drama and theatre growing up, acting in many different plays and musicals. He attended Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha and graduated in 1998. D'Agosto attended Marquette University, where he obtained bachelor degrees in both history and theatre.[3]
Career
He recently starred in From Prada to Nada with Camilla Belle. His big break came when he was cast as the ethical committee chairman Larry Fouch in the dark teenage comedy Election (1999), while he was still a senior at Creighton Preparatory School.[4] The film was written and directed by Alexander Payne, another alumnus of Creighton School. D'Agosto starred in the film Psycho Beach Party (2000). In 2002, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time acting career.[citation needed]
D'Agosto quickly landed guest appearances on primetime television series such as Boston Public, ER, Six Feet Under, Cold Case, House, Supernatural, and Without a Trace. He appeared in three episodes of The Office. D'Agosto was also cast in the recurring role of West Rosen on the hit series Heroes.
In 2011, he starred as Sam Lawton in Final Destination 5. He was hesitant to accept the role because the film's predecessor wasn't very good.[5]
