Blackjack treasure is a multiplayer role-playing game based on playing the casino game of Blackjack. It is completely free and hosted on the Blackjack community site Blackjack.com. It is a flash based game and so instant to start and will run on any operating system including Windows, Apple OSX and Linux with the only requirement to have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed in the browser.

GamePlay

New players register with email address and password for subsequent logins and a nickname for display in the game. Although not compulsory, it is also possible to create your own personalised avatar. Players start with a relatively small amount of gold (Blackjack Treasure's currency) in their account and are presented with the lobby of Blackjack tables. They then choose a dealer (or slot machine) from those that are already unlocked.

The table opens in a separate popup (so you need to have popups enabled for the site) and you can then place your bet in gold, play your hand, chat to the other players and generally have fun playing.

During play, items will drop which you can store, consume, equip or wear for different effects on the four game stats. You will also level up and gain more stat points which you can allocate according to what you want to achieve. As you progress through the game, new higher level tables are unlocked and more and more items become available.

The game is very intuitive with instructions appearing in tool tips when you mouse over something you don’t understand.

History

Development on the game started in 2007 and it has been constantly evolving since then. From a very basic multiplayer blackjack emulation, all the different aspects of the game have been added in the relatively frequent updates.

It has a loyal following with some players still playing from the start. There has even been an engagement between two of the players who met on the site and who will be married shortly.

Setting

The game is set in a fictional casino with about 40 fictional blackjack dealers, all of whom have their own avatar. There are also some interesting slots for those who want a break from blackjack.

Avatars

The avatars are sophisticated with gender, multiple ethnicity, skin tones, hair color and many other variables.

Avatars start with a default set of clothing, but during the course of the game, different items of clothing, jewelry, hats and other items become available.

You can also buy clothing and accessories in the shops (see below)

Items

Items drop randomly during the game in response to triggers such as winning a hand with blackjack for instance. There are too many items to list but there is a directory of items on the site which give all the details including what effects the items have on the game stats.

Items can be consumed, worn, equipped, bought, sold and sent and received from and to other players.

Shops

There are a number of shops with all sorts of items which are useful in the game for sale for gold.

Jobs

If you run out of money you can do jobs in the earn gold section. Each job pays a fixed amount and takes a certain amount of time. There is also a cooldown period so you cannot repeat the job.

As you progress through the game, more jobs for higher and higher gold become available.

Communication

Players can chat at the tables and there is a private message system which allows the sending or receiving of items.

Leaderboards and Statistics

Each session played is scored and players can look at the last fifty sessions they have played with the statistics on the session.

The best scores (the best sessions) are entered into the alltime, monthly, weekly and daily leaderboards.
