Punjab College Kharian is a college in Kharian located at Bismillah Chowk, GT Road Kharian, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established in 2011.
About Campus
Kharian is a Tehsil of Gujrat District. Kharian city is located almost midway between Lahore and Islamabad on Grand Trunk Road. The closest major cities to kharian are Jhelum and Gujrat approximately at a distance of seventeen and thirty five km respectively. Kharian is famous for having the world's second largest army base. This cantonment was built during the colonial era. Kharian also houses a big combined Military Hospital, an elegant Mosque and a beautiful park which provides a club for social activities. Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed and Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed both recipients of the Nihsan-e-Haider during the 1965 and 1971 war respectively against India, belonged to Kharian.
Since Kharian is located on the land fringed by two mighty rivers, Chennab and Jhelum, there is no shortage of water for irrigation and the land is very fertile.
In this thickly populated city the motivated students had to cover long distances in pursuit of quality education. Therefore, Punjab College, Kharain Campus was established by the management. The college campus is located at Bismillah Chowk, G.T Road in a purpose built building. All class rooms are air-conditioned. The Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer laboratories are nicely equipped for strengthening the practical background of the students in these subjects. Content-based animations in the subject of Math, Biology, Chemistry and Physics are employed for concept oriented learning. The college library contains a rich collection of latest books. The faculty team comprises highly qualified, experienced and committed teachers. The college is affiliated with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Gujranwala.
