If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Aubrey de Grey, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:32, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please have the courtesy to follow our policies. You have an admitted conflict of interest and have no place editing your own article, especially in the confrontational manner you have chosen to adopt. If this behaviour continues, you may be blocked from editing. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:38, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am indeed following your policies as you have described them: I have exercised caution in editing the page, and I have discussed my edits on the Talk page (where I see no response from you). It is also clear that ou are in a minority of one among those who have commented on the Talk page. I think it is rather clear which of us is the one being confrontational. I look forward to your reply on the Talk page; I will briefly desist from reinstating my original edits so as to give you time to post that reply. In particular, since the only thing anyone here knows about you is that you're English, it would be honourable of you to declare your own interest.
I have absolutely no interest in you or the article other than what I've declared on the talk page. You, in contrast, are the subject of the article and have a strong interest in portraying yourself as possessing a legitimacy you may or may not have in the scientific community. Please again consult WP:COI; also see WP:FRINGE. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:50, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for pointing me to the Wikipedia definition of "fringe", which might itself be described as fringe... Thank you also for acknwledging that my legitimacy in "the" scientific community (I thought we'd moved beyond that concept) is a matter of debate. Let's revert to the Talk page for further discussion.

ANI discussion notification

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 19:40, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My sincere apologies...

for giving any offense. I have withdrawn the AN/I post and deleted a similar comment at the Fringe noticeboard.

Please accept my apologies, and known that, despite possible appearances to the contrary, I have deep respect for you and your important work and will gladly revert any past edits with which you disagree. If you would prefer, please feel free to revert my edits without asking. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 20:54, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Tourism. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page Tourism. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Tiderolls 01:08, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did to Tourism, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Funandtrvl (talk) 04:13, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you actually think what I wrote at AN/I was intended to suggest that the Riley slice article was a hoax? I stated that I was "uncertain whether (a) this is a real mathematical concept, (b) the article is a hoax, or (c) mathematics is a hoax" - which I'd have thought was an obvious statement about my limited grasp of mathematics, rather than an implication of anything else. I have no intention of 'refactoring' anything, at least until I see evidence that anyone other than yourself took it seriously - If I actually thought it was fake, do you not think I'd have taken some sort of action about it? Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page 12 (number) has been reverted.
Your edit here to 12 (number) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/XIIofficial) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:44, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, please ignore this notice.

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to TWH Bus & Coach. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Charles (talk) 13:21, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Admin Notice

I don't know if the administration are aware, but this IP is a shared IP address that belongs to Vodafone and is used by them for the Mobile Broadband service they offer. I only became aware of this today when looking through articles and seeing the notice about it. I have placed a Shared IP template notice at the top of this page as well as on the user page so all can be made aware of this Shared IP. Many thanks :) --212.183.128.206 (talk) 17:12, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
