World Briefing is BBC World Service's standard news strand. Along with The World Today, Newshour, World Update and World: Have Your Say, it makes up a core part of the schedule's broadcast material. It is broadcast on the hour for a half hour programme whenever other news strands are not on air. Each individual version of the BBC World Service opts in and out of different editions whilst other Public Radio stations around the world carry editions of World Briefing. As of the Spring schedule changes in 2011 the times of day World Briefing air changed to incorporate 11pm and to remove 4am. (GMT)
