Kaleidoscope Dream is the upcoming second studio album by American recording artist, Miguel, set to be released October 2, 2012 through RCA Records. It is his first album released by the label after the disbanding of Jive Records.[2]
Background
The album follows up to his 2010 album All I Want Is You which disappointed music critics. The album will be released in three parts, the EP titled Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview was released on July 31, 2012.[3] It features the song "Adorn" and two other tracks "Don't Look Back" and "Use Me". The second EP Kaleidoscope Dream: The Air Preview was released on September 11, 2012 and it features "Do You..." produced by Jerry Wonda , title track "Kaleidoscope Dream" produced by Salaam Remi and "The Thrill" . The album itself will include all six songs from the EPs, as well as five additional tracks, and will be available digitally and physically on October 2, 2012. On August 1, 2012, Miguel performed in a show in New York City to promote the release of Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview and he appeared on BET's 106 & Park that same day to premiere his new video "Adorn". Miguel performed a new song called "Candles In The Sun" which is set to appear on Kaleidoscope Dream, he also performed a cover of Tupac's "I Get Around".
Singles
The album's first single is "Adorn". It was released July 31, 2012 from the Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview EP. It peaked at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at the top of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, making "Adorn" his third number-one on that chart. It is also Miguel's most successful single to date.
The secord single "Do You..." was released September 11 2012 off The Air Preview EP & released on September 18 2012 on a single disc.[4]

Samples
The title track, entitled Kaleidoscope Dream, contains a sample from Eminem's 1999 smash debut single "My Name Is", which was produced by Dr. Dre.
The track "Don't Look Back" contains an interpolation of the song "Time of the Season" by English rock band The Zombies.
