Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Jiménez (10 June 1970 in San Juan de Aznalfarache, Seville) aka El Sevilla is a Spanish actor and lead-singer of the rock band Mojinos Escozios. He is also a collaborator in a radio program of Cadena 100.
Career
Mojinos escozios
In 1994, El Sevilla founded the rock music band Mojinos Escozios when he met the others members in Mollet del Vallés, Barcelona. The group has sold more than 2 millions albums and performed over 450 concerts in Spain. They have released 12 albums..
Radio
El Sevilla has his own program in the Spanish dial Cadena 100 titled La junla hosted by José Antonio Abellán; and another with the famous program Afectos Matinales in National Spanish Radio with Jordi Tuñón and Queralt Flotats.
In the first one stand raised up controversy by one message to the host by Sálvame Jorge Javier Vázquez when accused him to be a censorship, awful person and TV trash instigator.[1] Further Vázquez sued Rodriguez for defamation and ask him 250.000 €.[2] However, the courthouse failed in favour to Vazquez and was compensated with just 10.000 €.[3]
Television
El Sevilla has appeared on several television programs such as Andreu Buenafuente's La cosa nostra, Jesús Vazquez's La central ans as an anchorman in La noche de Fuentes y Cía. by Manel Fuentes. He has also made cameos in others productions, including Plats bruts, 7 Vidas, Los Lunnis and Land Rober, and was a panel judge in Gente de primera.
In February 2010 he appeared as a contestant in ¡Más que baile! despite Jorge Javier Vazquez's protests, who had previously sued El Sevilla for defamation, although he had to resign.[4] However, that edition of the show was controversial due to some alleged favoritism toward one of the participants, Belén Esteban. Despite her poor rehearsal and performance, when he lost, the singer complained and commented about her partner: "Belén Esteban will be next winner of Mira quien baila"[5]
