The following is a list of characters from the BAFTA award-winning CBBC children's series Tracy Beaker Returns, which began airing on 8 January 2010. The show concluded on 23 March 2012 and was replaced with The Dumping Ground from January 2013.

Tracy Beaker

Tracy Beaker played by Dani Harmer is the main character throughout the series. She made her first appearance on 8 July 2002 (in The Story of Tracy Beaker) and departed on 23 March 2012 (in Tracy Beaker Returns). In June 2012, it was announced that Dani Harmer had quit her role and would not return in the The Dumping Ground.[1]

TSOTB

Tracy is the main character of the series. She is a child who resides in a care home, and has been a resident for quite some time. Tracy is a tomboy with behavioural problems, likely as a consequence of her mother abandoning her and failing to show an interest in her. In the first few series, she continually lies about her mother to get other children's attention and perhaps to try and convince herself that one day her mother will appear. Tracy is often reluctant to show her tears. When she cries, she attributes it to hayfever.

In the later series, Cam Lawson and her new husband Gary adopt Tracy. Tracy disliked Gary at first, but by the end of the series they remain on good terms. At first, Tracy resented Gary. She had just become adjusted to a life with Cam and regarded Gary as an intruder. When Cam announces that she is to be married to Gary, Tracy responds by dumping a bowl of food over Gary's head. The other children in the care home wonder why Tracy behaved in this harsh manner. After all, she now has a family. Tracy reveals that she is afraid that Cam and Gary will have a baby. Her long-time friends, Crash and Jackie, feel that Cam would not do that to her. Tracy then runs to the wedding that she made a vow not to attend. At first, Tracy is crushed when she hears that Gary and Cam do not want to foster her any more. Her mood then becomes ecstatic when the her new parents reveal that they want to adopt Tracy.

TBR

The series commences with the children in the care home viewing Tracy Beaker on television, promoting her new autobiography called Who Cares. Tracey is later arrested and brought into police custody because she used Cam's credit card in order to publish her book and failed to obtain Cam's permission. While at the police station, she meets Liam. At this time, she does not realise that Liam is a resident in the home in which Tracy spent a significant portion of her life. Tracy also bumps into Mike. She is given an opportunity of instead of being in jail after being dropped of all charges by Cam she is to write a column for the local community newspaper. When Tracy returns home, she listens lots of angry answer-phone messages left by Cam. Tracy fails to hear the last message in which Cam states that she is worried about Tracy. With the fear of being kicked out again, Tracy packs her bags and heads for the Dumping Ground in order to talk to Mike. Tracy arrives at the Dumping Ground only to be told by Gina that Mike has gone out somewhere. Gina allows Tracy to come into the building as it is pouring with rain outside. The kids at the Dumping Ground recognize Tracy from the television and Tracy gives a signed copy of her book to Gina for £6.00 instead of £6.99. Gina then lets Tracy tuck all the kids into their beds. When Tracy finally talks to Mike, he accidentally reveals to Gina that Tracy was arrested. Tracy talks to Mike about needing a job in order to repay Cam and Mike gives her a job at the Dumping Ground. Gina is slightly apprehensive about Tracy after she finds out she was put in jail.

Tracy is told to enforce the cleaning rotas and believing it will help get him and Tee Taylor fostered, Johnny starts volunteering himself and Tee for everyone's chores in return for gold stars in his file. Tracy feels Johnny is bullying Tee into doing all the house work. So she promises them gold stars no matter what they do. Tee forgets about Johnny and his chores and climbs the biggest tree in the garden in inspiration of Tracy's dare which she mentioned in her autobiography. When she gets stuck Tracy tells her to come down. Johnny climbs up to help her but Tee falls; she narrowly escapes serious injury thanks to an intervention by Toby. Tracy believes she'll get sacked but none of the kids have told Mike or Gina about the accident. Meanwhile, Liam and Frank try to make money by selling Tracy's books but the books end up being taken away by the recycling van to the recycling centre.

In series 2, Tracy holds a protest on the Dumping Ground roof after the council threaten to close it due to cuts and send the kids to Burnywood. Lily Kettle (Jessie Williams) is having some major problems of her own and seeks help from Tracy, so she climbs onto the roof. Much to Tracy's horror, Lily slips and falls off the roof. When Lily gets out of hospital, Tracy talks Cam into fostering her. Tracy bonds with Lily and they become like sisters.

In series 3, Tracy tries to bond and get shy Kitty out of her shell despite being warned of her unpredictable behaviour, because this leads to Kitty being frightened by the loud noise of the other children and causes her to push Tracy down the stairs, as Tracy put her arm round her to take her to the garden. Also when a fire breaks out in the attic, Tracy and Gus attempt to solve the mystery of the fire starter. Unfortunately, while investigating in the attic, Gus falls through the ceiling, luckily landing on Lily's bed and avoiding serious injury. Because of Tracy's 'irresponsible' behaviour and considered a threat and danger to the children, she is fired by Denis Stockle, the new head care worker. With a little help from Rick with the investigation, she proves it was Denis who accidentally started the fire and gets her job back, with him resigning. In episode 7, Justine Littlewood returns, asking Mike to give her away at her wedding. The children say Justine is nothing like Tracy made out and Justine replied saying that Tracy tells a lot of lies. She brings the children onto her side, and was even thinking on fostering Carmen with her fiancé Charlie but then Rick came in and said that Charlie was a conman. Tracy and Cam proved it to Justine and at the end of the episode, their rivalry had appeared to have stopped. In the 12th episode, she decides to do a vote to decide which three children should go to the palace to meet the queen with Mike. When it goes horribly wrong, Mike decides he doesn't want to go because he'd be a hypocrite, receiving an M.B.E. after incidents like this. In the end, the children decide amongst themselves who they think should go and they choose Tracy as the third guest, along with Harry and Gus. The final episode sees Tracy preparing to leave for work in another care home with better pay. Mike finds a new care worker called Melanie to take Tracy's place and accidentally hurts Tracy by saying 'we will have extra brains on our side'. When Jody stops breathing, Melanie comes to the rescue and everyone was really pleased with Melanie, making Tracy jealous with Mike giving all his attention to Melanie, ignoring Tracy. The next day, they argue at Sapphire's flat and Tracy looses her temper and walks out, slamming the door shut, which causes the roof to collapse on him. She rescued him immediately and when she arrived back at the Dumping Ground, her and Melanie made friends as Melanie helped the children make a goodbye book. Tracy stays up all night as she can't bear to leave but does the next morning after she talks with Mike. In the last scene, it shows her looking at the book.

Mike is tall with grey hair and blue eyes. He is portrayed as a lovable, kind but firm character who seems to know every character.

Mike first appears in series 1 as the assistant care worker. He is on good terms with Tracy, thinking she's a 'good kid on the whole'. He leaves at the end of series 1 before returning in series 5. When head care worker, Shelley Appleton, decides to leave she holds interviews for possible head care workers, who none of the YP like so they beg Mike to take up the role which he does. He carried that role into TBR.

Mike offers Tracy a job at the Dumping Ground because it is short staffed. As a result of this, Tracy and Mike to get to know each other again and become closer. In series 2, Mike has his hands full when a new girl called Elektra (Jessica Revel) arrives and attacks Liam O'Donovan (Richard Wisker). Elektra bullies the other residents and encourages them to steal items from the Dumping Ground. For example, she persuades Carmen to steal £20. She threatens the younger children and encourages them to behave badly. After she becomes the most popular person there, she tries to steal even more money, but after she is set up she confesses what she has done to Mike and prepares to leave. Mike gives her a second chance to improve, and says that they are not giving up on her.

Mike and Gina Conway (Kay Purcell) plan a day in the country for the kids, which the residents are not happy to attend. Mike and Gina both want the day to be perfect, but after Tracy is left in charge of half the children, it seems as if everything goes wrong. Carmen Howle (Amy-Leigh Hickman) nearly falls of a bridge and Harry Jones (Philip Graham Scott) and his stuffed giraffe, Jeff are alone with an adder, but Elektra rescues the pair. Mike is pushed to the limit when young Liam wreaks havoc on an old mans mobility scooter, and Liam ends up in court where he is given community service at an old peoples home. After Liam behaves himself and doesn't get up to any trouble, Mike tells him he is proud of him. He is a father figure to all the kids, especially Tracy. In episode 7, Justine Littlewood (Montanna Thompson) returns, announcing she is going to get engaged to a man called, Charlie (Kent Riley). She asked Mike if he could give her away and he said he'd be delighted to. Mike receives an MBE in Series 3 Episode 12 for taking care of children in care. He goes to Buckingham Palace with Harry, Gus, Tracy and Jeff and meets the Queen. Mike is seriously injured in episode 13 after a roof falls on top of him in Sapphire's flat, though he lives. He is the last person Tracy says goodbye too in the final episode and she finally recognizes him as the father she never had.

Mike returns in The Dumping Ground continuing his role as Head Care worker.

In episode 1, Mike decides to go on holiday, leaving the YP with Gina. Havoc follows when a world war one grenade sends Gina to hospital leaving the kids home alone.

In episode 3 he decides Jody is best off living at home again but when that doesn't work out Jody returns.

In episode 4 Mike is given Gus's Beethoven bust once the latter is fostered.

In January 2012, it was announced that Littlewood be returning for a guest appearance once again, and she made her return to Tracy Beaker Returns on 10 February 2012.

Justine is small and slim, with long dark brown hair and brown eyes, and her hair is usually seen worn in a plait down her back.

She regularly visited him and even went to live with him in series 4. Justine's best friend is Louise, and she 'borrows' money from her often. Justine is mean to many people, and can have selfish generousity.

Justine returns in the spin-off series (Tracy Beaker Returns) and reveals that she is engaged to a man named Charlie (Kent Riley). Her dad doesn't like Charlie and refuses to give her away, so she asks Mike to give her away instead. She makes herself popular with the kids which annoys Tracy. Gina is large, Jamaican, with black and highlighted hair. She is kind and a great house mother to the children, but can't spare much time for Tracy.

Gina is very clever towards the children and the residents seem to respect her. She is able to control the children without them resenting her interventions, however the children sometimes see her as loud and brash and very masculine when not needed to be person. Gina first encounters Tracy Beaker when Gina opens the door to Tracy when she arrives at the Dumping Ground. Not really understanding who Tracy is, Gina tells Tracy that Mike has gone out somewhere. Gina is sympathetic and lets Tracy in as it is pouring with rain outside. The kids at the Dumping Ground recognize Tracy from a television broadcast and Tracy gives a copy of her signed autobiography to Gina for 99p less. Gina allows Tracy to tuck all the kids into their beds. When Tracy finally talks to Mike, he accidentally lets slip to Gina that Tracy was arrested for using Cam's credit card. Gina is angry because she let Tracy put the kids to bed. Gina does not warm to Tracy at first, but grows to adore her and usually stand up for her. In Series 2, Gina is meant to be attending a Ballroom dance but sees the children teasing her so she refuses. The kids dress as giant chickens, dress up as comedy dancers (with Carmen and Tee dressing up as men and Liam, Frank and Johnny dressing up as women) and perform a dance routine to persuade Gina to go to the dance. This shows how much the children love and respect Gina, who is always willing to do what it takes in order to ensure that the residents are safe and happy. In Series 3, Gina seems to get along with Tracy more.

In the series opener, Gina spent a few days in the hospital due to an accident with a grenade. After she returns from hospital the young people agree that they should not tell Mike what had happened, due to Gina telling them this was the first holiday in 20 years.

Liam and Frank decide to spend their share of the money on a new television but end up running from security. Liam holds some money back to give to Frank so he can get a gift for his granddad. The moral for this is very important. Liam will return toThe Dumping Ground in January 2013.

Liam is medium-height and has brown hair and eyes. His best friend is Frank. Liam is sarcastic, cunning and sly, but he is kind and loyal to those he considers friends. In episode 6, Liam is attacked by new girl Elektra (Jessica Revell) and Liam is jealous when she instantly makes an impression with the other kids. In Episode 10, Liam ends up having to do community service at an old people's home when he brushes with the law again. Liam dreads his punishment, but after a while Liam creates an unexpectedly good relationship with 'Spooner', an old war hero who is being ripped off by a salesman. Liam and Spooner find out they have a lot in common when Spooner doesn't like talking about 'the old days' and Liam doesn't like talking about having no family. In episode 12, Liam and Frank play a trick on Elektra, by putting worms in her cereal bowl. Liam is supportive of Frank when he found out his granddad died, but Elektra can't help having the last laugh when she put worms in Liam's burger.

In series 3, Liam doesn't seem to be too affected by the newcomers and even defends Tyler Lewis (Miles Butler-Hughton) and Rick Barber (Daniel Pearson) when Carmen and Elektra burn their things. That is until he discovers that other newcomer Lizanne is conning his best friend Frank for money. Liam and Johnny Taylor (Joe Maw) attempt to make Frank see what she is like by trying to convince her that Liam is very rich. This causes Lizanne to try and build a relationship with Liam and she kisses his cheek, Frank sees this and goes ballistic with Liam. Liam then explains that it was a trick and that Frank can do much better.

In Series 3, Liam finds out that he may have a sibling he never knew about. When Tracy and Frank visit this possible sibling it turns out he is the man who sold Liam fake DVD's. Liam gets a tag on his ankle and a 7:00pm to 7:00am curfew and has 3 chances before he is sent to a youth detention centre. He then finds out who is brother really is and using his last chance goes to ask why he didn't defend him. Liam gets taken to a police station, where his brother comes in and reveals he's an undercover cop. Liam is dropped of all charges and goes to live with his brother. Despite his promise to Frank to "be in touch" Liam is neither seen nor heard of after this episode.

Tee Taylor

Tee, who is played by Mia Mckenna Bruce is Johnny Taylor's younger sister. In series 1 of Tracy Beaker Returns she is 9 and in The Dumping Ground she is 12. Tee is small, understanding, kind and caring and a fun character. She has dark blonde, almost brown hair and brown eyes. As she grows she has a bold nature, she is protective of her brother. When Tee was younger Johnny used to protect Tee from harm, but when Tee got fostered Johnny realized that he was "too much" on Tee, and Tee wouldn't do stuff she was never allowed to do. She returned to the Dumping Ground when her foster dad discouraged Johnny not to call her - which made moving in harder for her. Tee is good friends with Lily and Carmen, and in series two her best friend was Hannah, though this probably didn't last.

In "By the Book",Johnny kept forcing Tee to do chores, and when Tracy tried to help Tee, she got mad at Johnny and climbed up a dangerous tree in the garden. She got stuck and fell off, but wasn't injured as a beanbag broke her fall. Johnny got mad at Tracy and blamed her for interfering.

In "What You Don't Know", Tee and Johnny met potential foster parents. Tee got on brilliantly with them and became best friend with their daughter Hannah, but they didn't want to foster Johnny, so Tee got fostered on her own. Her foster dad stopped phone calls between her and Johnny, and when Tee found out, she decided to go back to the dumping ground.

In "Shadows", Tee followed a bunch of clues thinking they would lead to treasure, but instead found a time capsule made by Tracy and her friends when they were kids.

In "Summer Holiday", Tee was ruined a dumping ground holiday when she forgot to close a gate and some sheep got into the holiday cottage. Everyone at the dumping ground got mad at her, but eventually she managed to find a new holiday.

In "Dreamland", Tee made friends with Gina's mum, Hattie, and was horrified when Mike suggested Gina put her in a home, but then she found out how bad things really were with Hattie.

In "Oh, Mo", Tee decided to look after Mo, but soon regretted her decision when Mo started clamouring for her company and saying they were best friends. He got worse and worse, until she lost her temper and smashed up a scarecrow he had made. When it fell on him, she felt terrible, but luckily Mo was alright.

In series one of Tracy beaker, Tee is very childish, only a little girl, and she gradually grows up throughout Tracy Beaker Returns, then in The Dumping Ground, she has grown up a lot - from one of the youngest to one of the 'older kids' in the home. She seems to be a lot more mature, and has taken on a lot of Sapphire's characteristiccs, as like Sapphire she looks after the little kids, is moody at times, doesn't like people coming into her room and is quite artistic.

Tee's central episodes are "By the Book", "What You Don't Know", "Shadows", "Summer Holiday", "Dreamland" and "Oh Mo". She also played a large part in "SOS

In Episode 7, The Dumping Ground residents are waiting for the return of Johnny and Tee after being fostered. The foster parents loved Tee but thought Johnny was very controlling and could be very moody. They only want to foster Tee but the Dumping Ground has a strict policy about not splitting up siblings. Elektra (Jessica Revel) overhears Tracy telling Seth (Ashley-Taylor Rhys) about Johnny and Tee, Elektra gives Johnny a hint about why they were sent back and this makes him very curious. It turns out that Tee borrowed a precious bracelet from her possible foster sister Hannah then forgot to give it back. This makes Johnny extremely angry with Tee as he is convinced that this is why they were sent back.

In series 3 he briefly dates newcomer, Lizanne until he realise she only was with him for his money. Johnny also shows a great friendship with Lily in The Dumping Ground.

In episode 8 Johnny carries out a robbery for two men that take away his, Sapphire's and Elekra's phones so he will keep quiet about all the stuff they have already taken that doesn't end well, in the end he gets a certificate for being a loyal friend because he put himself in danger to protect Sapphire and Elektra. In series 3Invitation Johnny bribes the other kids to vote for Tee which Tee is disgusted at.

Johnny and Tee both were sent to the Dumping Ground as their mum's boyfriend would beat them if they did anything wrong. This is why Johnny is very clean and tidy.

Johnny is medium-height,with brown hair, dark grey eyes. He is big brother to Tee and is deeply over protective which causes annoyance to Tee.Johnny does not have a particular friend since Toby left and is desperate to get fostered plus has a frienemy relationship with Elektra during series 3. They seem to be friends in the episodes 'Eggs' 'Reward' and 'Summer Holiday' but are back to fighting again in 'Going Home'.

In The Dumping Ground it shows that he has a good friendship with Gus as he stuck up for him when the Dumping Ground burst into anachary and while the others were glad to see Gus go, Johnny felt sad and wanted to give him a goodbye that Gus would want.

In The Dumping Ground, he disagrees with Gus being fostered by a gay couple and falls out with Elektra and Tee. Tee was so angry at Johnny that she wished that Johnny was never her brother. However Elektra got mad at Tee for saying that to him and the pair realised that it was not about Gus and gay fostering it was about Johnny feeling unwanted as Elektra figured out when she was cheering up Johnny. Tee later forgave and apoligised to Johnny as he gave Gus the perfect goodbye.

Lily Kettle is 14 years old, and the best friend of Carmen Howle (Amy-Leigh Hickman), grew up as a mother figure to her sisters, Poppy Kettle (Katie Anderson) and Rosie Kettle (Claudia Colling, later Millie Redfearn), even more so when her mother died and, as a result, her father became an alcoholic. Lily is very pretty, fashionable, medium-height with shoulder-length golden hair, blue eyes and loves the colour purple she is constatly wearing it. She is kind, protective and loyal. She misses her whole family dearly and often goes to great lengths for her family to be whole once again.

In Series 1, Lily and her sisters were fostered by well-meaning Matt and Christie, but they decided that it was for the best that Lily should be returned to Elm Tree House. This was because Lily was being extremely overprotective of her sisters. She was still allowed to visit them.

However, in Series 2, Matt and Christie decide to take her back, against Lily's wishes. A dramatic episode ends in Lily falling from a two storey roof; however, besides minor injuries and a broken leg and arm she makes a full recovery. Lily is then fostered by Tracy Beaker's (Dani Harmer) foster mother, Cam Lawson (Lisa Coleman). In an episode in series 2, Lily, Tee Taylor and Carmen are invited to a pamper night in Cam's flat with Tracy. This ends in disaster when a fire is started by knocked over candles. Lily escapes unharmed. One day, however, Lily's father, Steve Kettle (Ben Cartwright) shows up again, and after meeting again, Lily decides to help him drop the restraining order so she can live with him again.

In Series 3, Lily's honest alibi to a fire in Elm Tree house was that she was with Carmen and Tee, and alibi supported by the two of her friends. However, the alibi is unneeded as it turned out to be Dennis Stockle, the care worker from Burneywood, who accidentally started the fire. In episode 5 Lily is determined to reunite herself and her father with Poppy and Rosie, although the meeting turns out to be a disaster when the girls cry and run away from Steve. Lily organizes a second meeting with the help of Tracy. All is well until Poppy throws up and the picnic comes to an end. Rosie tells Matt Perrie that the girls had met their dad and complain to Mike Milligan (Connor Byrne) and Gina Conway (Kay Purcell). In the end Poppy and Rosie stay with the Perrie's and Lily and her dad rescues Shadow, a three legged dog Frank Matthews (Chris Slater) found on the streets from being put down. She and Carmen decide to got to Wales in 'Summer Holiday' but get stopped by Tee. She will be returning in the new spin off The Dumping Ground 2013.

In episode 3 Lily's dad has girlfriend who is moving in and pregnant at first Lily rebels, saying she wants to go back to the Dumping Ground but later accepts her new family members.

MotherHelen Howle

Carmen Howle has appeared in the show since 2010, portrayed by actor, Amy-Leigh Hickman. In one episode, Carmen's Mum appears to take her back. They meet a few times, and Carmen is seemingly warming to her Mum. But when Carmen meets her Mum for a second time, her Mum quotes 'I'm supposed to be your mother. I mean, how could I do that to you?' as she left Carmen at home with only a packet of noodles to warm up. After a while, their conversation trails off, until Carmen's Mum asks Carmen if she would like to go with Spain with her. Carmen seemed delighted - but she later felt strained, would she rather stay at the Dumping Ground, or go to Spain with her Mum? She creeps to Frank's room in the middle of the night, where Liam, Frank and Johnny are playing cards and asks for their advice. She decides that she would be going to Spain.

The next day Carmen's Mum breaks the news to the care workers when she sees Carmen at the Dumping Ground. She then gets a call from her boyfriend Lee, and Carmen told her to 'just hang up' but Carmen's Mum tells Lee about what she was going to be doing - because he'd be 'so jealous.' She then announces that she and Lee are going to get back together again, and he has already agreed that he would be willing to have Carmen in the house. She told Carmen that it would be a few more weeks until she could move in again. At this point, Carmen tells her to 'go away'. When Carmen's Mum goes, Tracy confronts her and says "Do you know what it's like being on the rotten edge of your selfish little games?" and her Carmen's mother replies, 'Selfish? Me?'Tracy replies "Your behaviour stinks. And so do you for putting Carmen through this. You went to Spain with your husband and dumped her. When he left you, you wanted your daughter back again. And what are you doing now? You've dumped her again." to what Carmen's Mum nearly replies "I know, I know, your so right Tracy-" "I don't wanna hear it. And I bet Carmen doesn't either. So do us all a favour and shove off back to Spain, ADIOS!" in which point Carmen's Mum exits.

She is best friends with Lily, and is 11 in the first series of TBR and 14 in the first series of The Dumping ground. In The Dumping Ground Episode 12, you see her passport which says that she was born in November 1999, which would mean that she turned 13 in November 2012. NB - Also, in episode 12, Carmen says to Esme that her Mum left her alone to go on holiday when Carmen was nine, and, being as her date of birth is November 1999, this must mean that she had only been living at the Dumping Ground for a year in the first series of Tracy Beaker Returns. Lily must have come to The Dumping Ground after Carmen, because, in the first episode of Tracy Beaker Returns when Liam tries to get in through his bedroom window, Carmen knows who he is, but Lily doesn't. This doesn't make sense, because, in the second series of Tracy Beaker Returns, in Episode 11 Sapphire says that Lily's Dad had turned up 'a gazillion years later', when it would have actually only have been one year. Also, in series 3, it is mentioned that the last time Lily's Dad saw Poppy and Rosie they were babies, but actually they would have been three or four and five or six the last time he had seen them, and it would have only been between two and three years ago.

Carmen is medium-height with long brown hair and brown eyes and often wears a lot of make-up. She seems eager, kind and caring, but impatient. Her favourite colour is pink. In episode 9 series 1 (A Day in the Past) of The Dumping Ground Johnny says she gets low marks in her grades and she can only ever be a cleaner.

He originally blackmails Charlie with the information to get a new laptop, but, when he found out Justine was considering to foster Carmen Howle he tells Tracy and Justine in order to prevent Carmen getting hurt. Carmen is upset, but understood, thanking Rick for revealing who Charlie really was. He really likes Carmen and always tries to solve her problems. In the episode 'Eggs' Carmen has a crush on Rick, who rejects her. Afterwards though, he asks to be friends with her in the episode 'Justine Littlewood Returns'.In 'Jody Jackson', Rick is talking to Carmen and reminds her of the fact she only burnt his and Tyler's stuff after Elektra putting the idea in her head.

Rick is good friends with Tyler after they survived Burneywood together. He stuck up for Tyler and never let the bullying get too bad when they were there. In Elm Tree, they share a room at the start but after Rick comes back from his failed fostering, he moves into Liam's old room. Rick comforts Tyler both when his stuff is burnt, and when Johnny tells everyone that he wets the bed. Rick is like a big brother to Tyler.

In episode 12, Rick reveals that he hates the Queen, as he blames her for his parents being in jail. He votes for Elektra to go with Mike to meet the queen because she tells him she is going to cause trouble. Tracy makes him feel guilty for ruining Mike's big day, and so he takes charge and helps the other children to make things right. He has now taken over the role of being the leader; previously it was Liam who made all the decisions but now has been handed over to Rick.

In The Dumping Ground, in episode eight, Dreamland, Rick gets a huge shock when he finds his dad, disguised as a boiler man, right inside the Dumping Ground. Gerry insists that he’s above board now and promises Rick a happy family future, but it quickly becomes clear that Gerry still loves the buzz of a hustle, and Rick is distraught.

11 year old Tyler first makes an appearance in Tracy Beaker Returns when he is thrown in the door by the horrible care worker, Dennis Stockle. Carmen recognises him as the young joker whom she blames for nicking her stuff while she was at Burnywood. She wants revenge and so begs Elektra to help her, but Elektra claims it's not her fight. Tyler tries leaving out plastic poo as a joke, but when Gus Carmichael sees it, he just gently taps it with a pen, writes in his notebook and walks away. Later though, Liam O'Donovan and Frank Matthews encourage him to pull a prank by putting washing up liquid in the bathroom toilet which makes the toilet explode with foam. However, Liam and Frank abandon him when they realise they have pranked Elektra, who blames Tyler and angrily chases the boy through the house. Elektra decides to help Carmen get revenge on Tyler by hiding his stuff and she gets Carmen to set it on fire by using Tyler's lighter. It is revealed that Tyler had a secret box of fireworks in his bag, and so all his stuff goes up in flames. When Carmen finds Tyler crying over a burnt card, she is upset when she learns that she has burned his only birthday card from his mum. Tyler then admits that it was him who put glue in her shampoo. So they both make it up and appear to be good friends. When he first arrived at the DG, he shared Sapphire Fox's room with Rick Barber as Sapphire is living in a flat until Rick moved into Liam's room after he moves out with his brother. In Episode 3, Tyler annoys Johnny Taylor, who tries to frame him. However, by the end of the episode they become mates when Tyler takes the blame for Johnny.

Tyler is small with brown afro curly hair and brown eyes. He is kind, and is good friends with Rick. He is a huge joker, who sometimes plays his jokes wrong.

In Episode 8, Elektra & Johnny tell everyone that Tyler wets the bed, which he does all the time because when he was small his mum told him that she wished that the flood would come and wash all the bad things, including him, away. The night after the award ceremony, thanks to Harry telling him to build an ark in his nightmare, he doesn't get scared and stops wetting the bed. He then places Johnny's hand in a bucket of cold water, hoping to perform the bedwetting prank, saying "Now it's your turn."

Tyler has a good relationship with Rick Barber, who stuck up for him when they lived in Burneywood. He is also friendly with Tee Taylor and Harry, as well as consistently trying to make friends with Gus, much to Gus's annoyance most of the time. Tyler also seems to be good friends with Jody as he and Carmen went to find out why Jody wasn't answering his calls.
