Octobers Very Own is an record label founded by rapper Drake and his longtime friend and in-house producer Noah "40" Shebib. The label is currently distributed by Warner Bros. Records (Warner Music Group).

History

October's Very Own was founded in 2007 by Drake & Noah "40" Shebib during Drake's 2007 mixtape Comeback Season and the label was simply meant to signify that all the members of the October's Very Own (OVO) group are born in October and it is named after the fact that they are all children of October. Hence "October's Very Own". According to Billboard, Drake has signed a partnership deal with Warner Bros. Records for his own label that he has started up called October’s Very Own. Similar to how Rick Ross is signed as a solo artist to Def Jam and his artists on his Maybach Music Group label are signed to Atlantic Records, Drake will still be signed as a solo artist to Republic Records through Young Money/Cash Money, but the artists he signs to his new label will go through Warner Bros. Records. Drake has already been building up his October’s Very Own brand by shouting out OVO on his songs, selling OVO merchandise, and hosting an annual OVO festival in his hometown Toronto. Drake is also not the only artist from Young Money who has created a record label, as his label-mates Tyga started up Last Kings and Nicki Minaj started up Pink Friday Records.

OVO Fest

OVO Fest is an annual concert held in Toronto Canada which started on August 2, 2010. The Annual event is held on Carribanna weekend which is a popular Caribbean festival in Toronto. The Concert is held on the Sunday night of the long weekend at the Molson Ampetheather. OVO fest is famous for the special quests drake brings to Toronto to put on a good show for his hometown fans. The first annual OVO fest’s guests were Rick Ross, Bun B, Young Jeezy, Fabulous, Kardinal Official, Eminem, and Jay z. The second Annual OVO fest’s guests included The Weeknd, Rick Ross, Nas, J Cole, Stevie Wonder and Lil Wayne. The third Annual OVO Fest included 2 Chains, The Weeknd, ASAP Rocky, French Montana, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Snoop Dog and Niki Manaj. The fourth annual OVO Fest will be held at the Rogers Centre (formally known as the Rogers Centre) in Toronto. OVO Fest is well known for its special guests appearances.

October's Very Own has an official clothing line that is available on their web site at https://store.octobersveryown.net/shop.html . The official Crew Necks, T shirts and, Jackets are available to buy.

OVOXO

OVO XO is a combination of Toronto artists Drake and The Weeknd. The weekend is in close affiliation with Drake as they are both from Toronto. The Weeknd has performed at 2 OVO Festivals (2011, 2012)
