Luiz Melodia, born Luiz Carlos dos Santos (Rio de Janeiro, Jaruary the 7th, 1951) is a Brazilian composer and singer of MPB.

He started his musical carrer in 1963 with the singer Mizinho, and worked as a typographer, sales man and musician in the night clubs. In 1964 he had formed the groupd called "Os Instantâneos", with Manoel, Nazareno and Mizinho. Released his first album "Pérola Negra" in 1973.

In the following decades Melodia releases many albums and performed in the North America and Europe. In 1987 he performed in Chateauvallon, France and Bern, Switzerland among many other festivals.
