Gaviña Gourmet Coffee is a family owned and operated coffee roaster, grower and importer located in Vernon, California.[1]. Founded in 1870 by two brothers José María and Ramón Gaviña in the hills of Trinidad, Cuba at their Hacienda Buenos Aires.[2]

Jose Maria's son, Don Francisco started to learn the art and science of coffee cultivation. Then in the 1960's, when Fidel Castro seized power of Cuba, Don Francisco moved to the United States with his wife and four children - José, Leonor, Pedro, and Paco. He started F. Gavina & Sons in 1967 where they continue to expand their business and currently have three lines, Don Francisco's, Gavina Gourmet Coffee and Cafe La Llave. [3]

Gavina currently supplies coffee in chains such as Ralphs,Wal-Mart, Kroger, CVS Caremark and Safeway. They also have private-label coffees brewed and sold at McDonald's, 7-Eleven and Costco stores.[4]
