Absolute rubbish ... I explained this before. I never agreed to do a full review, but gave a considered response. Get down from your ivory palaces ....

== Abandonment of [[Talk:Bristol Parkway railway station/GA1]] review ==

Hi, regarding {{diff|User talk:Bhtpbank|prev|586874360|this edit}} and its edit summary: I'm afraid that by creating the GA review page with {{diff|Talk:Bristol Parkway railway station/GA1|prev|579716467|this edit}}, you implicitly agreed to do the full review. More at [[Wikipedia:Good article nominations/Instructions#Step 2: Starting a review]], particularly the boldfaced final paragraph. --[[User:Redrose64|Redrose64]] ([[User talk:Redrose64|talk]]) 12:37, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Third rail, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Farringdon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Alphabetical ...

Oops, not sure how I got "jamesboy" wrong.

Scottish names are an interesting point though. Do you file Mac, Mc and M' before all other M words, or in the place where a computer would put them? There is a similar issue with some Irish names: does O'Donnell come before or after Oddy? Many years ago when working in a library we were told to treat M'/Mc/Mac the same and put them before other M so that you would get:

 • MacAdam
 • McDonald
 • MacWilliams
 • Martinson

If you remember the old style card indexes, the dividers had separate M and Mc, but some had Mc before M and some M before Mc! Regards, Martin of Sheffield (talk) 14:40, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing

Okay, I returned this one to the queue since you felt you were unable to determine if it met the criteria. For your next review, you might consider working with a mentor at the GA Recruitment Centre; there's plenty of folks there who would be happy to guide you through the process. The best approach I can suggest is to make a list of action points and suggestions for the nominator, and stating clearly which are needed to meet the criteria; that way, the nominator's attitude doesn't enter into it, as you can determine whether they've done them or not them and pass or fail accordingly. My experience is that adding suggestions unrelated to the criteria (such as "more pictures are needed") can confuse the issue unless you explain which is which.

That's just my two cents, of course, and everybody's style is different. Thanks for your reviewing, and I hope we'll see more from you soon! -- Khazar2 (talk) 15:23, 15 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
