Simone Marie Butler is a British musician and the current bassist of Primal Scream. She succeeds Mani who leave the band to take part in the Stone Roses reformation.
Biography
She grew up in a musical universe (her father was a musician in several pop bands and her second name came from Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis). Trained in a classical background, she played her first concerts at the ages of 12 in school orchestras where she was first violinist. After studying art and leaving school, she started to work in a guitar store in Denmark Street, London where she could meet a lots of musicians, especially Barrie Cadogan, where she was the first female manager in history to run a guitar shop there, that which being the Bass Cellar, bass guitar specialists.[1] Before rejoining Bobby Gillespie and the others musicians of Primal Scream, she has played bass for several rock and roll and electronica bands, and has worked as a DJ, both radio and playing live and also played gigs providing atmospheric soundscapes to spoken word poetry.
