I removed the claim that Daurene Lewis (1984) was the first black female mayor in North America. This list includes two who took office in the 1970s, the Dalhousie University Web page claim notwithstanding. --[[User:Tkynerd|Tkynerd]] ([[User talk:Tkynerd|talk]]) 16:03, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

I found a source and we're a bit weak on early women mayors so I'll add it.--T. Anthony (talk) 22:02, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Australian Lord Mayors?

Should Lord Mayors be included? In Britain it's apparently a ceremonial title, but in Australia it's apparently a political title. Is it a similar title?
