Arnold Murray (pastor)

He is the pastor of Shepherd's Chapel in Gravette, Arkansas. Mr. Murray has broadcast his low budget Bible interpretations since 1985.

Shepherd's Chapel INC. buys time on over 225 independent television in the United States and Canada, in late night or early morning hours. The organization also offers programming 24-hours each day to C-band home satellite dish owners throughout the western hemisphere, as well as short-wave radio broadcasts, which reach around the world. Mr. Murray also provides weekly updates on current events, for his followers, if they call his "Current Event" line at 479-787-5556

Broadcasts originate from a very spartan studio: an unadorned blue curtain behind Murray as he preaches while seated at his desk, which is topped only with 2 figurines of a bald eagle and occasionally a small bouquet of flowers. The name Arnold from the Old German means strong as an eagle, eagle-ruler. A fringed American flag stands behind his chair. His daily program consists of thirty minutes of Bible study, and thirty additional minutes of questions via mail. Murray has been broadcasting by satellite since 1985.

History

Born in Oklahoma in 1929 Arnold Murray's childhood has been a mystery that Mr. Murray is loath to reveal. What can be confirmed is that Mr. Murray began his ministry in California, being ordained by representatives of the "Soldiers of the Cross", headquartered in Englewood, CO. Shepherd's Chapel is registered as a nonprofit under that name in Arkansas. Mr. Murray claims to have been a former Marine who fought at the Chosin Reservoir, in Korea. He also claims to hold a doctorate, but refuses to identify the college which issued this doctorate, or the institution where he received his undergraduate degree.

His wife, Anna, has passed away, and he has been known to date country singer, Lorretta Lynn. (in her book, "Still Woman Enough") He has 2 sons, Dennis and David who both participate in the ministry with their dad.

Recently, Murray's son Dennis Murray has taken over some of the reins of Shepherd's Chapel and is a worthy substitute for his dad. It is Dennis Murray's voice that welcomes viewers during the opening of each program.

In 1978 Murray copyrighted his interpretation of the King James Bible, called the "Shepherd's Bible" (Registration # TX-42-142). He is distinguished from other Christian ministers, for never giving testimonies about what God has done in his life.

Despite numerous attempts by various ministries asking Murray for biographical information, and proof of the Doctorate that he claims to possess, Murray never provides such.

Murray solicits donations, at the end of every program, by mentioning that the program is brought to listeners by "tithes and offerings". He also sells tapes and "studies"--which he has also copyrighted. He owns a rather large airplane.

He is NOT a member of the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountablity).  Shepherd's Chapel has no Board of Directors or Elders.

Controversy

Mr. Murray is distinguished from other televangelists, in that he openly teaches British Israelism, as well as, his own unique teaching that "Kenites" are the actual, physical sons of Satan and Eve, who masquerade as God's people, the Jews.

He gained a certain level of notoriety for retrieving a 9mm handgun out of his briefcase in response to a heckler who shouted "blasphemy" at him while recording a program. Murray's response was to say "take this nine millimeter to that boy!".

• Murray teaches that all the (other than white) races were created on the sixth day of creation and Adam and Eve were created on the "eighth day" of creation! Christianity teaches that all people were descended from one man and one woman who were created on the sixth day.

Murray teaches a different sort of "works" gospel. A "works" gospel mixed with a new spin on "reincarnation". He teaches that there are some, on earth today, who EARNED their salvation in another time...another dimention...in another "earthage"! These folks do not need to be covered by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, but instead they are "elect" because they sided with God during the rebellion of Satan, during this earlier "earthage". And those who did NOT side with the Lord must be "born again"; that is, born into a physical body as opposed to a spiritual one. Yet some, like Murray, VOLUNTEER to be born into physical bodies to become teachers to humanbeings. 

Other Teachings

Foundation is the serpent seed doctrine. Eve and Adam had sex with Satan; Eve first, then Adam. Satan was the 'fruit', the 'tree', and the 'snake', in that story. Satan is the 'tree of Knowledge', according to Murray. Eve got pregnant with satan's son and with Adam's son. Cain and Abel were twins; but Cain was Satan's son.

Cain's decendants are the 'Kenites' who went on to become scribes and 'corrupted' the Bible. They live today as the people who are presently living in Israel. They are not true Israelites. They are imposters. They are also known as "Jews" all over the world. They are the powerful Jews who run the world. They are those in charge of the four "hidden dynasties".....But, they are not real Jews, but sons of Satan as Murray and his followers know. This truth about the 'Kenites' is the big mystery of the Bible! Murray calls it the "Key of David". He says this knowledge "unlocks the scriptures" for a "serious student", who has "eyes to see, and ears to hear". And of course, since he would be exposed, Satan is very clever and wise in trying to hide this fact! According to Murray's teaching, satan has changed scripture to hide it. He tricks and fools other Christians into thinking that the "serpent seed" is nonsense. And since, according to Murray, the truth is there for anyone willing to study hard enough to find it...most are just plain "too lazy", and "don't know their Bibles" well enough to see this "truth"!

Satan's fallen angels impregnated human women in the time of Noah, and since Jesus said that in the last days, the world would be 'as the days of Noah', that those evil beings are again literally impregnating human women today. If you do not have your head 'sealed' by God, meaning that you accept the truth of the 'serpent seed doctrine' ('Key of David').......then you will get pregnant by these fallen angels! Of course according to Murray, the Kenite sons of Satan already are on earth.. but these will be worse, I guess....

Only Bible that can be trusted is the KJV 1611, and the 'original' TR--which can be traced back to Antioch.(according to Murray) The other scriptures have been corrupted by the Kenites. You should really use the 'Companion Bible' by Bullinger; and a Strong's concordance during your bible reading time, looking up the meanings of words, and rootwords, so that you "rightly divide" the Bible. Of course anyone who does not accept the Kenite doctrine, is NOT "rightly dividing" the Word, according to Shepherd's Chapel!

Murray teaches Christian Identity doctrine that all non-white races were made on the sixth day of creation, while God made a special man 'Adam' on the EIGHTH day of creation. But, Murray says that he teaches this doctrine in the "right" way, and always says that one must remember that God said these races were 'very good' and he loves all his "children" (including satan, who Murray calls "his son")----they just weren't who God wanted to make his covenant with, so he made this special man; Adam, who was able to blush, on the eighth day. And according to Murray's doctrine, God, for his own purposes, wanted to keep the line 'pure' for Christ to come. So Adams descendants are not to mix with the other races for marriage.

Also, Man was created in HIS OWN image...the image os his former "spirit body" that he had in Murray's mythical "first earth age"...man was not created in God's image, as is the "tradition" commonly taught in "ignorant" churches.

You should follow the dietary laws in the Old Testament.

Murray teaches and promotes the 'TRADITIONS OF Glastonbury'. This relates the myth that Jesus was the nephew of Joseph of Arimithea, who was a rich man who worked for the Roman government and ran mines, in Britain! The story says that Jesus lived much of his years with the uncle in Britain! And that the 'lost tribes of Israel' had earlier, migrated up to the British Isles. Of course they are white skinned, because Adam was white skinned and the true sons of Adam are too. These true Israelites don't know that they are Israelites! But the Lord knows who they are, and he will save them. 'None will be lost'.

Noah's son Ham had sex with his mother. That is why Noah was so mad.

Noah had not 'mixed' with other races, and that is why God chose him. He was the only one who was 'pure in his generations'--which Murray translates to mean racially pure.

The flood of Noah was only a local flood, this is how the Kenites made it through. Murray has also offered that since the Kenites were not really human, but a hybrid; then Noah probably put two of them on the Ark. (I can not resist pointing out that Murray teaches that these Kenites are not known to be sons of satan...so this does not make sense according to his own teaching..)

Murray teaches that being "born again" means that one must be born INTO a flesh body---from the spirit world; because Murray teaches pre-mortal existance. According to Murray, this life is a testing area, to pay for the last life that we lived, in our 'spirit' bodies. Now some evil spirit bodies refuse to be born in the flesh to be tested! Murray teaches that these evil ones instead came to earth and had sex with human women, producing progeny. He also teaches that these are bound, until the endtimes, and will be set loose again, during the "time of the locust"...and these evil spirits will again have sex with human women, producing children!

The 5th Trumpet, in Revelation was blown in 1969! The sixth will be blown soon.

At the 7th Trump, we will recieve our "spirit bodies". The same ones we had in the "first earth age". We will not be raised in perfected flesh bodies, but rather in spirit bodies. Jesus Christ, in fact, was not raised in a flesh body, but in a "spirit body"...yet, he "took his flesh with him", so that people could believe that he was "raised from the dead". Christ could not have really died, since he is merely God in another role, anyway...and God can not die; so, His flesh could not actually come back from death...

This earth we live in, is the "second earth age"; according to Murray. He teaches that in the "first", we had "spirit bodies". But God destroyed that earth with a flood, during satan's rebellion. The souls in heaven are the "good" people who are angels now. They "stood" with Jesus in the "first earth age". And now these are the "Elect". They don't need "salvation" because they "earned it" in the "first earth age". Yet, in this flesh body, that they agreed to be "born again" into; they committ sin, and should "repent" of that fleshly sin. But, their heads are "sealed" and they are already are getting into God's Kingdom. As a matter of fact...these special Shepherd's Chapel students; the ones with the "open eyes and open ears"; who recognise the Kenites...they will be teaching all the rest of God's "teachable" souls, in the Millennium! Now, the bad people are the wicked angels that followed satan in his rebellion. During the first earth age, while we were in our spirit bodies, we walked the earth with Dinosaurs!

The Anti-Christ will say that he IS Christ, and that he has come to 'rapture' out all his people. There is no rapture---ever. According to Murray, this is 'false' teaching. Them that teach it, have been 'sealed' by satan. They are decieved.

Murray teaches that you must not pray outloud. Satan can not read thoughts, but if you pray outloud, he will hear, and get you with what you pray about! You are not suppose to pray to Jesus. 'You don't need to', Murray says! You pray to the Father, in the name of the Son. Because Murray teaches:

Modulism--God the Father and the Son are just God in different forms. A woman can be a MOTHER to her children; and WIFE to her husband; friend to her neighbor....God is Father sometimes, and Son sometimes. The Holy Spirit is just a word for God's 'power force'.

Teaches Biblical numerics and puts strong emphasis on Astrological "signs". Talks of things happening, when the stars are in certain astrological positions. This IS astrology, yet he insists that it is merely being a "watchman" as Jesus said we must.

Teaches that Armageddon is actually in Alaska!

Teaches annihilation instead of Hell.

Teaches that the book of Esther is a 'Kenite lie'!

Since God is light and satan is darkness, those who use the Solar calendar are of God, while those who use the lunar calendar are of the devil.(Jews)

If you don't understand some of this stuff, it is best if you just 'put it on a shelf'.....and come back to it later. Because God reveals things to people at different times. You may still be too "immature" to understand it! He often says a cryptic "a word to the wise, is sufficient"...meaning that only those "true elect" will know what he is talking about!

Murray uses all kinds of pressure tactics. Calling people 'ignorant'; saying that they 'don't know their Bible'; that they hold on the 'traditions and doctrines of Man' and other things, if they do not accept his teachings.
