Since Mike is already in the category of American People of Irish Descent, he might as well be in the American People of Italian descent as well. The article is locked so I can't make the edit myself. 50.138.199.209 (talk) 04:48, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Baseball career reference
The content related to derision over his non-career is referenced to a link which is labeled as a New Yorker piece, but is actually a page on the subjects web site containing an excerpt of the New Yorker piece. After searching the New Yorker piece for 'baseball', 'career', and 'varsity', I can't find anything supporting the content. If this mention of derision can't be sourced, it should be deleted.50.147.26.108 (talk) 13:08, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Vandalism from www.mikefrancesa.com forum participants

Added the vandalism tag and reverted to good version Jim 17:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page is consistently vandalized by people from www.mikefrancesa.com. I sympathize with their sense of humor but really it has no place here. The page should be semi-protected from 1-6:30 on weekdays. Reliefappearance (talk) 03:16, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fully protected

The nonsense stops now. I have fully protected this page because of the nonstop juvenile nonsense I have had to scrub out of this article. Horologium (talk) 23:21, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the name in the info bar to Francesa not Francesca. Ramsquire (throw me a line) 23:25, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Sorry, I know nothing about this guy. The article was so badly deformed that I wasn't able to figure out his real name. Horologium (talk) 23:30, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The vandals are from themikefrancesa.com forum. I started a thread about it on ANI [1] to see what they want to do about it. They also vandalize the articles of other NY sports media personalities and inject jokes about these people into other articles such as the article on Secretariat (horse). Examples: [2] [3] Fatandloud (talk) 16:53, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, after figuring out what happened with the strange protection history of the article, I have reduced it back to indefinite semi-protection. (Indefinite since there appears to be some sort of organized campaign on that forum linked above.) It appears that edit-protection ended on this article in August, but it was still move-protected. In any case, autoconfirmed editors have access to the article again. I'll be keeping an eye on it for a while to make sure that it doesn't end up in the atrocious state in which I found it. I just registered on Wiki so wanted to make this request signed instead of unsigned. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by DONKEEDPUNCH (talkcontribs) 03:10, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

I have added a small section on the criticism he receives as well as referencing the Darelle Revis incident. I feel that the criticsim deserves a few sentances because it is seemingly very widespread. --Coingeek (talk) 00:28, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 12 October 2012

You forgot to list the Mike Francesa article as semi protected "to promote compliance with the policy on biographies of living people."

Information as to why this article was protected is available in the log. I did, however, add the semi-protection template to the top of the article, as there was none. —KuyaBriBriTalk 19:06, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
