Johan Elmander ['juːan ɛl'mɑndɛr] (born May 27, 1981 in Alingsås, Sweden) is a Swedish football player, currently playing for the Danish club Brøndby IF, where he started in 2004. He is a Swedish international player who has played 17 national team matches, and he participated in the

qualification campaign for his country.

Elmander started his career in Swedish clubs Holmalund and Örgryte IS before the young striker made the move to big Dutch club Feyenoord at the age of 18. Here he never became a mainstay in the first team, and was subsequently put on loan, first at NAC Breda and later back in Sweden with Djurgårdens IF.

The player has been linked with a move to scottish world record holders Rangers.
