Athletics
Mount Tabor High School excels in many sports especially Soccer, Wrestling, Track, and Football, and has many state championships in these sports. Students can participate in any sport for a small equipment fee, but may have to "try-out" for larger teams. The full list of Mount Tabor's Athletic programs includes: Baseball, Lacrosse, Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, Softball,Cross Country, Swimming, Field Hockey, Tennis, Football, Volleyball, Golf, Wrestling,Track, and Marching Band.
Achievements
- Mount Tabor is ranked as #516 at Newsweek out of the top United States high schools. It is also the home of the Dorian Scroll. Mount Tabor recently had two state champion wrestlers and a 103 lb. wrestler that is #1 in the nation. Nonetheless, a thorough lack of culture and generally unimpassioned students make this school a generic and undesirable place to attend.
Alumni
- J-Mee Samuels - Ranked #1 sprinter in the country by Track & Field News in 2005, 19-year old national high school record in the 100-meter dash at 10.08 seconds, 5 time NC State Champion, 4 Time National Champion. Recently, however, J-Mee was caught by University of Tennessee officials giving a urine sample that was not his own in a recent drug test, raising concerns as to the validity of past accomplishments.
