Derrick Henry is an American football running back for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He holds the high school football record for career rushing yards.
Early years
Henry attended Yulee High School in Yulee, Florida. He finished his career with 12,124 career rushing yards, which broke Ken Hall's career high school football record.[1][2] He also rushed for 153 career touchdowns. He was ranked by Rivals.com as the fifth best running back recruit in the nation.[3]
Henry is also a standout athlete. He ran track for the Yulee High School track team. He ran a personal best time of 11.11 seconds in the 100 meters at the prelims of the 2011 FHSAA 2A District 3 Championships.[4]
Henry committed to the University of Alabama in September 2012.[5]
