Sand City is an upcoming 2014 Malayalam language Indian feature film directed by Shankar starring Prajin Padmanabhan, Gautham Krishna, Thanishka, Varuna Shetty, VK, Jaise Jose, Jijesh Menon and Shankar himself.
The film, a bi-lingual has been made in Tamil language as Manal Naharam.[1]
Plot
Sand City explores the lives and predicaments experienced by people from India at Arab countries for better dream and fortunes, leaving behind their loved ones at home. The story takes place in Dubai.[2]

Production
Filming
The preliminary schedule of the film took place in Chennai in March 2013 and the crew left for Dubai as the major story unfolds in Dubai, with most part of the film being shot there. "The 50-day shooting was very tough and challenging", said Shankar to a daily.[2]
Audio Launch
Manal Naharam 's audio was launched on October 15 at The Oberoi, Dubai attended by the entire cast of Sand City. Apart from the team, actor Risa Bava also spoke on the occassion.[5]
