Douglas R. Casey graduated from Georgetown University in 1968.[1] and is the founder and chairman of Casey Research, a provider of paid subscription newsletter services espousing libertarian viewpoints as the justification for the purchase of highly speculative microcap stocks, precious metals, and other investments. Casey publishes the monthly investment newsletter The International Speculator and also "The Casey Report."

Casey contributes his opinions to various websites such as WorldNetDaily[2]LewRockwell.com [3] the libertarian print publication Liberty.

Casey believes that the bankruptcy of America is inevitable and implied by the true liabilities of the general government which he estimates is upwards of $100 trillion when all Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation bank deposits and other off-budget items are included.[4]

In 2012 he published Totally Incorrect: Conversations with Doug Casey.[5]
