20 Years Old is an upcoming album by American singer Janet Jackson, scheduled for release on September 26 2006.

Album information

Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Jermaine Dupri are the executive producers of the album, whose title makes reference to her hit 1986 album, Control, since 2006 will be the 20th anniversary of Control's release.[1] According to the producers, the title also refers to "how old [Jackson] feels".[2] An album cover contest for fans to create an album cover for "20 Years Old." According to plans, the first million copies of the album will be published with this fan-created cover. The concept of the contest is to create an album cover that best celebrates Janet's past 20 years. Details on the contest will come out in the middle of July. The choice for the second single has not been determined yet, despite rumors that it had already been decided that "So Excited" would be the next single. Producer, Jermaine Dupri, says the choice has not been made yet. There will indeed, however, be another single released before the album drops in September.

In a recent issue of Rolling Stone, two new song titles were revealed, "With U", and "Enjoy". "With U" is the follow-up song to Control 's, "Let's Wait Awhile", after the two characters have had sex, where as in the original, the song was before the two characters had sex. "Enjoy" is described as an "Escapade" type track, from the Rhythm Nation 1814 album. One lyric line from the song is, "I refuse to be stuck in the past." "Stuck Inside the Groove" and "This Body", although confirmed by the So-So Def website, have not yet been confirmed as being on the final tracklist.

Dupri confirmed that a duet between Jackson and Mariah Carey will happen for the album. [3] Johnta Austin [4], Kwame, Avila Brothers, Kanye West, [5] Track Starz [6], LRoc[7] Khia and Nelly are involved in the production of the album. The album's first single, "Call on Me", was released on June 19.[8]
