Biography

Yaelle Maftsir is an Israeli actress, comedian, writer, and producer based out of Los Angeles. She has significant experience in both comedy and drama genres and is particularly well known for her talents in physical comedy. She also has experience with television and film.

Yaelle is perhaps best known from the play Matinee(also known I'm Hebrew "Hatzaga Yomit") . The show, which she created and starred in, won three prestigious awards at the [Haifa International Theatre Festival ], including best play, best direction and best actress, which was awarded to Yael in recognition of her boldness, courage and innovation in creating this piece. Matinee has since generated a reputation as an international success, performing in leading festivals in Europe including the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In addition, Matinee occasionally had the honor of being the Israeli debut at these festivals, some of which had never hosted Israeli theatre before. In Germany Yael once again won the best actress award, and due in part to this great success as well as the overall international acclaim of her work, was twice selected by the Israeli Foreign Ministry to receive the title of Distinguished and Outstanding Performer.

Yaelle also provided exceptional performances in the distinguished stage productions The Bible Show,The Neighbors Grief Is Greener, Smily, Click To The Heart, Baldy Heights, Cabaret and They Shoot Horses,Don’t They, to name a few.

Each of these performances received amazing reviews, critical international success, and was quite profitable.

Her film and television experiences include roles in the comedy hit show Israel and the successful shorts Farib’s Tree and Stend Up. Yaelle also created and stared in her web-series that was selected as Top 10 web Series by [[Time Out's magazine]] magazine.

For her extraordinary talent Yaelle has been critically recognized in many ways and her credits include awards and honors as two time winner of [[Rabinovich Award]], and credited as MQVE Award for Quality Visual Theatre, Israeli Tony Awards for Best play and Best choreography and the Tel-Aviv mairs' Award.

Yaelle is constantly developing and creating new projects for herself and for others and she's known for her capability in leading an ensemble of actors and for her complete involvement and dedication throughout the production process. She is also one of Israel's leading actresses, with technical skills in creating characters and in her physical and vocal range of expression which are among the best.

Yaelle has become an international sensation with well-reviewed performances in many countries including Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America.

Yaelle graduate of both The prestigious Israel's drama school Nissan Nativ Acting Studio and screenwriting at The Sam Spiegel Film & Television School Jerusalem, she honored with a full Scholarship for mime and dance atDARC, France by the Franch consul.
