He's such a dear

Well lucky me, my master gave me another command -

You can't vote, first of all, it was your idea to make me do this, and second, you already ruin evberything, so i've decided not let you vote, but anyone else can. I Love Minun 19:31, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I feel inclined to say "how high". Thank you for the help. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:35, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now that is one beautiful orchard! I wish my kitchen window looked out onto that! Thanks. Denni 22:30, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • And here I thought you lived in Victoria, British Columbia (sorry, almost the same thing). Denni 22:45, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Please allow me to correct you ever so slightly - British Columbia is in Canada (and yes, we Canadians are touchy about being seen as little Americans). I, like you, have little love for the United States, but BC would be a wonderful place to retire to - all the charm of a small British city with all the social programs of Canada. Plus winters only the most demanding could complain about. Denni 23:08, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wise I'll try to be.

Best. Support comment. EVER. Seriously! You have no idea how much your comments made me smile. In fact, when I read it now, I still smile! I respect you so much, and am honored that you said so many nice things about me. :D Your support means so incredibly much, and hopefully I won't become too corrupt!

That yes sounds kind of funny, but I needed another syllable. And you do deserve all the nice comments! :) I haven't gotten that picture of tomatoes before, and they look very, very tasty. I can already imagine it with some nice mozzarella cheese... yum! -- Natalya 13:58, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd appreciate it if you'd play the devil's advocate and unblock my current User:Tchadienne, or at least my old account User:KI. I've been blocked for 3 months for one case of personal attacks. Lord of the Rings FAC comments

Hi there. About your comments at Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates/The_Lord_of_the_Rings, I've added some comments there that you might want to read. I've also reviewed the edits you made, and I noticed you removed the "Sales, awards and polls" section header I inserted. You also mentioned a possible issue with the disambig hatnote. I've started discussing these at Talk:The Lord of the Rings and would appreciate your comments there. Thanks. Carcharoth 08:47, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Expertise needed

A new user asked me for advice I don't really know the answer to.

Joe - The following message concerns me greatly. I did not request a password change, but recognize the IP address as belonging to a member of a small group that repeatedly harasses my employer, DePaul University, through e-mail. This group has built quite a controversy section for DePaul on our Wikipedia entry. I have recently begun editing the site to present DePaul's perspective on their charges. For the record, DePaul does not restrict free speech, but does insist on civil discourse, which this group generally does not engage in. Their attacks almost always focus on DePaul's protection of the rights of students who are not Christian or Jewish and of the university's support (generally accepted in academia) of tenured faculty who advance controversial opinions. (We do not allow anyhone, including faculty, to threaten and intimidate students, which is the core issue of the Klocek case, but because it is under litigation, we cannot post further). I am concerned that this group is now trying to hijack my Wikipedia account to either make false edits to DePaul's site or to cause trouble under my name on other sites, which would lead to me being banned. Are there any Wikipedia policies that cover this situation? Kris Kgallagh 7 June 2006

See User_talk:Searchme#Dispute_support for full. I've come up with the following: Wikipedia:Resolving disputes, Wikipedia:Civility, and Wikipedia:Esperanza. Is there some place else I should tell them to go, or can you suggest a better course of action? Joe I 08:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute assistance

Celestianpower -

Thanks for your suggestion to Joe that I post this to the administrators noticeboard [1]. I looked around a little on the site and am unsure where to post. It is not vandalism and I am not yet ready for a content dispute. My immediate concern is this group's attempt to mess with my login. Where exactly should I post this?

Thanks!

My RFA

Celestianpower, thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for adminship, it passed with a final tally of (65/3/3) - which I find both amazing and humbling. I wish I had time to thank everyone personally, but I'm afraid all I can offer is this token of my gratitude. I hope to live up to your expectations/hopes. If at any stage you need to contact me, for help or a request or to point out a mistake in my conduct, please make sure to tell me on my talk page. --Fir0002 08:23, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Celestianpower. I was wondering if perhaps you could look at the talk page of the Esperanza project at the heading titled Trading Spaces program and WP:UPH. As the leader of esperanza, your decision would be appreciated. Thank you, Thetruthbelow 19:06, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trading Spaces and WP:UPH

I know you said it was alright if the two projects were merged on Esperanza's talk, but I was waiting for an "offical" message from yourself or an objection before I went ahead and merged. So, is there any real reason not to merge yet? — The King of Kings 20:06, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. :-) Cheers! — The King of Kings 20:27, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just letting you know I merged it, left a note on the Esperanza programs page about the move and told everybody who was currently envloved in a renovation about the merge. Cheers! — The King of Kings 22:33, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gibraltar

Hello Celestian Power:

I would like to ask you a favour. Could you please have a look at the talk page and history of the article on Gibraltar. Over the past few months a number of users, including myself, have been in conflict with user:Gibnews. We feel he has taken over the page as his pet project and has imposed a NPOV pro-Gibraltarian point of view. I feel his attitude and utter refusal to acheive any form of consensus is contrary to the rules of wikipedia. He accuses everyone of Spanish propaganda even on issues which are not directly related to the Anglo-Spanish dispute over Gibraltar and reverts pretty much everything which is not written by himself. Although I am not Spanish, I sometimes wonder if I may be slightly biased towards the Spanish perspective. I do not however believe that Gibraltar should be Spanish and I try to remain as neutral as possible. I do not have a problem with Gibnew's views. I simply do not approve of his way of discarding other people's sources, opinions etc... You should perhaps consult other users for their opinions such as user:ecemaml and user:asterion.

That is why I ask you, as an English-man, to mediate or atleast give your perspective on this issue.

Please look at the talk page over the past few months. Conflict with user Gibnews seems to go a long way back.

Thankyou very much for your help. We would really appreciate it. There is nothing worse that when articles are hijacked by individuals with political agendas.

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question about suspected spam user

I noticed a new user that had no edits except for their talk page which seems to be a description of their band and a link to the band's page. IRC op

Hey CP, when you have some free time, you think it's possible you could give me level 10 access (so I can give myself ops) in the #wikipedia-esperanza? if you don't have it perhpas you could hunt down someone who has. People have been asking for kicks, etc in there and was wondering if you might consider giving me access. Thanks --Pilot|guy 02:21, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently it can only be given to the advisory council, etc, not sure if this is still the case. --Pilot|guy 02:22, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pilotguy, Celestianpower is on a holiday so I'll take the liberty of answering your question... We decided a while ago that ops were going to be restricted to current and past advisory council members and the admin general. Therefore, after the elections, we'll have a new group of people with ops to add to the list. Should that not be enough for practical purposes, we'll have a look at expanding it. --JoanneB 08:54, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Things and stuff

Hi CP!

I got your email and your talk page message. I've been a bit busy in real life in the last few days (although I got some good news and so I don't mind being busy!). Thanks for adopting my thoughts as an FAQ for Esperanza. I hope they help! I'll consider reappearing after the elections. Hope you enjoy your break and that it is as sustainable as possible! Popping by

Hey CP - I see you have recently returned too! I hope you had a nice and relaxing and warm vacation in wherever it was that you went - Spain? I don't remember, but I do remember that it sounded lovely.

By the by, what happened to your Tirben userbox? I always found that quite amusing. -- Natalya 12:58, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa, a private pool and a grand piano? What a lovely combination - it sounds like a fantastic place! Very relaxing, to say the least.
We spent a couple days in Edinburgh, and then about a week in London. It was a good time, they are two of my favorite cities. :) Unfortunately we didn't stray far from either city, but I will certainly remember next time I am there. I find that England is so beautiful, especially the countryside - from the pictures, Stroud looks gorgeous! -- Natalya 03:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Celestian Power!

Sorry for bothering you. Could you please explain to me how to report a user for persistently violating wiki rules?

Thanks alot

According to the peer review, we will need to add round about 30 references to this article, and we will need help from as many Wikipedians as possible, cheers Minun (talk) 19:29, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Celestianpower, I have a favor to ask - would you mind protecting Apartheid (disambiguation)? It was protected for a while a bit ago while discussions went on, and while it was unprotected for a bit and did okay, it's now back into a revert war, and I think it is prudent for discussions to continue and a decision to be made without continuous reverting. I would, but I'm currently involved in discussions about it, and there's the issue of conflicting interests at all. Thanks, (hopefully you're actually in). -- Natalya 23:12, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Much appreciated. One admin-related question, is it also recommended to have someone else unprotect it when the time comes, or is it only an issue when protecting? -- Natalya 23:20, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
