*I hope you recognize that, the Internet being what it is, such action is required to protect Fredrick Brennan; I'm sure you understand (if it is indeed you, which I am not specifically doubting) and I don't think you would be particularly happy to know that Wikipedia has allowed someone to speak "as" Fredrick Brennan without making sure you aren't being impersonated... such things are known to happen, especially surrounding this particular "controversy" (for lack of a better word). ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 20:57, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

** You can send the photo permissions email also to info-en; they're slightly different people than permissions-commons, but they talk to each other, and there is a very high degree of overlap. (It's one app; in general some people handle the photos, and some people handle the identities, but there are a fair number of people who do both.) Please do send the email, it will be quite useful to confirm you're you, that the KnowYourMeme interview is correct, we can ask questions about things we don't quite understand, etc. --GRuban (talk) 00:06, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Sorry Ryulong, I didn't know. Btw do you like my signature? Wikipedia is fun, I can see why you like it here :) Fredrick Brennan (ayy lmao) 11:35, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know who you are but you should make an account so you can have a fun signature too. (I mentioned this page in IRC.) Fredrick Brennan (ayy lmao) 11:47, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The green and purple is difficult to read properly when you have all those span styles for background color. And please don't turn this into another circus. Please remove your statement from Logan Macs section of the page and please do not encourage members of your site to come here because it will only cause unnecessary disruption.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 12:00, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ryulong, why are you allowed to go on GamerGhazi and gloat about your edits but I'm not allowed to talk to my friends in IRC about mine? Why do you feel the need to dictate what I do elsewhere on the internet? I'm following the rules you've set up for my Wikipedia use. I'm not even planning on being a regular editor here, I'm way too busy with 8chan for that. Don't worry, I'll be out of your hair soon friendo :^) Fredrick Brennan (ayy lmao) 12:36, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome! May I bug you for a selfie?

Hi. I'm afraid I'm mostly guilty of the article about you.

If it's not absolutely horrible to you, could you provide a photo? It would add a lot to the article. You would need to release it under a free license, so it could be reused as Wikipedia can be reused, such as https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/

You can upload it to Wikimedia Commons yourself, and write an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org saying that you are you, and you took the photo, and are releasing it under the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license, or if you prefer, you can email it to me, with that statement, and I can do the upload and forward the email. I'm going to accompany this with an email that you can reply to.

You can see other photos I've found, taken and/or bugged other notable people for at my Commons page at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:GRuban --GRuban (talk) 16:05, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

... aaand the accompanying email bounced, so if you want the email route, you'll need to click on the "Email this user" link here or on my user page to set up email exchange first. --GRuban (talk) 16:08, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
... aaand I see you already uploaded an image. Thank you! Sorry, I didn't follow all your posts in various places. Will stick on your article! Appreciated! --GRuban (talk) 16:14, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the photographer will probably need to send the permissions-commons email anyway. Is that photo a selfie? See, in general, the photographer owns the rights to the photo, so the photographer needs to release the rights. If you're not the photographer, you will need the photographer to send the permissions-commons email. Sorry. You are quite right, we are a bureaucracy in many ways. But, that's the way it works. And still better than the alternative! --GRuban (talk) 16:18, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, FredrickBrennan, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You are welcome to continue to edit under this username, but we ask the following:

 1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
 2. Please send an e-mail to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles e-mail is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

 1. Adding your new username here on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
 2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
 3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text Your reason here, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. ☺ · Salvidrim! · 20:53, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
