The school was inaugurated in 1978 as Janadipathy Vidyalaya and later renamed as Royal College Panadura. The college conducts classes from grade 1 to 13 in both Sinhala and Tamil medium including English medium from grade six onwards. Royal College Panadura [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] (Sinhala: රාජකීය විද්‍යාලය, පාණදුර) is a National school situated in the suburb of Panadura in Western Province, Sri Lanka.

Also Sri Lankan local news papers refer Royal College Panadura as Panadura Royal College,[11] Panadura Royal[12][13] or Royal Panadura.[14][15][16] Current students of Royal College Panadura are called Panadura Royalists.[17][18][19][20]

The school was inaugurated in 1978 as Janadipathy Vidyalaya and later renamed as Royal College Panadura. The college conducts classes from grade 1 to 13 in both Sinhala and Tamil medium including English medium from grade six onwards. Royal College Panadura is spreaded across over 34 acres (140,000 m2) consisting of a complete Information Technology Centre,facilities of over 10 scientific labs, auditoriums, Sports Complex boasting of squash courts, basketball courts and table tennis, an international standard rugby football ground and a modern gymnasium, 2 cricket grounds and nets, swimming pool with diving facilities, along with volleyball and tennis courts.[21]
