The writing is breathless, fitting for tourist brochures, but not for an encyclopedia. This requires rewriting. I've done some of this, but more is needed.Fconaway (talk) 23:21, 18 July 2012 (UTC) |

Alappuzha is one of the biggest cities in Kerala state but some people want to show it as a village or a small town. If we look at the montage, we can see only a houseboat, a beach and a lake. No picture showing the urban life of Alleppey is included. A reader will get an impression that Alappuzha is just a remote tourist village with only beach and backwaters. It is totally not true. Alappuzha is a crowded city with busy streets, junctions, market places, movie theatres, shopping complexes, stadium, bus stand, railway station, star hotels, colleges, hospitals, schools, district headquarters of all major government departments, etc. We need to add images of all them in the montage. Then only people will get a clear picture of how a big city is Alappuzha. Just look at pages of other cities in Kerala, like Thiruvananthapuram. They give good pictures of city skyline and prestigious buildings and landskapes, give detailed narration of all the major achievements and positive side of the city and convince the reader why their city is a metro. We, on the other side, are trying to show how underdeveloped our town is as if we are expecting for some kind of financial aid from somebody. |

Population in the sidebar is that of the district, not that of the town. Can somebody get the actual figure? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.124.247.137 (talk) 05:14, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- I was wondering about that too. If a place had a population of 2 million + I would not call it a town. BurtAlert (talk) 05:27, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Total Rewriting Needed
This article needs a total rewriting. Most of the content is about the district Alappuzha. But this article is about Alappuzha city. Is here anyone who really watches this page? - 17:51, 10 April 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karyasthan Raman Nair (talk • contribs)
Yes sir i watch this page, any suggestions or help will be really appreciated blockbuster 15:51, 29 April 2012 (UTC)tojo thomas
- I agree with the above. From the "Etymology" section onwards, the article talks about "Alappuzha District" rather than "Alappuzha City" or "Alappuzha municipality". This should be rewritten. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.218.68.61 (talk) 06:47, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Alappuzha is not a village, it is a city
