Modern Age Mess

The Modern Age section is in severe need of clean-up. The timeline seems thrown together, and if memory serves, doesn't seem to be in order at all. Further, there was a lot of adventures that Namor participated in before finding Jean Grey's cocoon beneath the ocean. For a character that is Marvel's own oldest super-hero, his accomplishments are glossed over. And for some reason, Namor's association with Heroes for Hire is given several lines of text, but for some reason his membership with the Avengers and Defenders is barely mentioned at all. I find this hard to understand as Namor's associations with the Defenders and Avengers are far more significant and longer-lived than his brief time affiliated with the H4H. The Author of this section, if he wants to include the Kun Lun and what not is free to do so, but I think that much more time needs to be devoted to Namor's rich history, as opposed to a short lived storyline. Command of Sea Life

It says in the notable powers box that Namor has "command of marine life" - I was under the impression that this was an Aquaman power and that Namor explicitly CANNOT talk to sea animals. Marveldirectory dot com says nothing about a talking-to-sea-life ability, but it does leave stuff out; I'm not really a Namor fan except by proxy and said proxy-er says that he doesn't feel familiar enough with Namor-lore to go in and edit right now.

Confirmation from another fan with source back-up to hand would be awesome. - Tinderblast 02:08, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

According to the OHOTMU: Avengers 2004, he has - quote - "a telepathic rapport with many, although not all, forms of marine life! - unquote, so at the very least, command sounds too strong.
The big problem with Namor's powers beyond the basic strength/flight/breathe underwater and out of water is that he's got a ton of powers that mostly only showed up once or twice in the Silver Age (like his electric (eel) powers), and I'm not particuarly familiar with his solo series to say if he did often "pull an Aquaman." It's certainly not something I'd ever heard of before I looked back at the Handbook there at least. And the Deluxe Handbook makes no mention of it either, which is odd (unless, of course, it's been tacked on in recent years. Weird addition if it is) - SoM 03:07, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
That's kind of what I was thinking, that this was something obscure or defunct if not conflation with Aquaman. - Tinderblast 04:21, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Namor's strenght

Namor can now lift 100 tons. The people that keep editing it to 85, are wrong. Here is a link to the image from OHOTMU 2004:

We want real information here, right? Stop editing it.

Removed Quote

I excised the following text:

" Everything his now - the famous credo of "survival of the fittest" exemplified. Because, after all, one did not require the mind of a Charles Darwin to see...there were none fitter then Savage Sub-Mariner." - Mr. Sinister, Weapon X #14

because it is poorly edited (I can only assume the original comic text read a little more clearly and used 'than' rather than 'then') and doesn't really add much anyway. Matt Deres 19:45, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merger

The Feat List either needs to be deleted or merged into this article. I think it should be deleted myself, although a lot of the info can be incorporated into this article. Instead of pictures from another hosting site, one or two can be uploaded to the wiki, or issues can simply be referenced. Kusonaga 14:42, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
