Fink started teaching at Upper Iowa University in 1892, and in 1903 became professor of Botany at Grinell College. Three years later in 1906, Fink began a position as headship of Botany at Miami University, where he worked until his death in 1927.[1] Several lichens have been named in his honor, including the species Calosphaeria finkii,[2] Dermatina finkii,[3] Patellaria finkii,[2] and the genus Finkia.[4]
